The ICON is XP's entry point into the DEUS II ecosystem: a wireless, waterproof, multi-frequency detector built around the same FMF (Fast Multi-Frequency) engine as the DEUS II, in a simplified interface designed for straightforward operation. The ICON runs on the same coil platform as the DEUS II FMF lineup, meaning it shares hardware compatibility with XP's higher-tier system rather than operating as a separate, closed product line.
The ICON transmits simultaneous multi-frequency signals rather than requiring the user to select a single fixed frequency, with automatic and manual frequency shift available. In addition to FMF mode, the ICON offers two dedicated mono frequencies (4 kHz and 14 kHz) for situations where a single frequency outperforms the combined multi-frequency read: 4 kHz favors larger, deeper, higher-conductivity targets such as silver and relics, while 14 kHz is suited to general-purpose coin and jewelry detecting.
The ICON shares its coil connection with the DEUS II FMF ecosystem. Every DEUS II FMF coil size, 22.5cm (9"), 28cm (11"), and 34x28cm (13x11"), physically fits and operates on the ICON, along with XP's wireless ST headphones, the MI-6 pinpointer, and the Go Terrain smartphone app. This gives ICON owners a direct expansion path into XP's broader coil lineup rather than a closed, standalone accessory ecosystem. Full cross-compatibility requires current firmware on both the ICON and any DEUS II accessory being paired.
The remote control, coil, and headset communicate over XP's digital wireless protocol rather than Bluetooth, transmitting target signal with minimal latency so audio response stays synchronized with the coil's position during a normal swing. The system also supports XP's wireless MI-6 pinpointer over the same protocol.
The ICON carries an IP68 rating and is waterproof to 1.5 meters (5 feet) out of the box with the remote's charging cap closed, suitable for wet sand and shallow water use. Full underwater audio to 5 meters (16 feet) requires XP's optional BH-02 bone conduction headset, sold separately.
The ICON weighs 735 grams as configured with the 28cm (11") FMF coil, built around XP's S-Telescopic Lite stem.
