Review by Nathan at nateslucky1214gmail.com on October 22, 2020This little Detector has lots of heart and it's like the little engine that could. Goes up against some heavy hitters and stands for to toe with some of the best. It doesn't cease to amaze me. Nothing beginner about it
Review by ROBERT on October 21, 2020The Simplex+ is still the best budget metal detector on the market. Great depth, easy to use, rechargeable battery that lasts and lasts, lightweight, sturdy. Simply a joy to use. Great for beginners and seasoned detectorists alike. If you already have a favorite detector, get one as a backup or if you have a buddy or a kid that wants to try it out sometime. As always, the customer service from Kellyco was top notch when ordering. Cheers!
Review by Noble Adventurer on October 12, 2020I bought the simplex through Amazon but as it turns out it was fulfilled by Kellyco. The machine itself is pretty well known already as being a very reasonably priced powerhouse of a machine that goes deep and has ever expanding capabilities through its updatable software. The shipping was fast and in great condition and the price for the machine itself and all accessories have been great from Kellyco. I’ve looked around but haven’t found a better place to buy than Kellyco.
Review by Ron Fry on October 12, 2020I have a cpl other detectors and simplex is my go to. Never fails to hit the good deep targets. Love it. And not as hard to master as some others.
Review by Nokta Mike on October 12, 2020I have been in the hobby since 1973 and was always a Garrett owner. I purchased the Simplex by Nokta Makro and switched right away because of the technology, ease of use and solid customer service from Nokta Makro. The quality of this detector is superb in the industry and the light weight which means no more sore shoulders. The machine can be updated via the internet with the latest updates from Nokta Makro which means you'll have the latest machine at all times. I have found many vintage and rare coins including silver & gold. Relics are easy to find with the Simplex. Its easy for the beginner and advanced enough for old timers such as myself. You won't go wrong with this detector and even better when you buy it from Kellyco!!
Review by Dirthole on June 3, 2020Well, the Simplex has found a another 1800s door knob. This is a Cobblestone house that was built in the 1800s. The owner told me that his grandfather lived there for over 50yrs. The farmer that I talked to was his grandson and in his 80s. He also said that 5 other families had also lived there. Now the house is vacant because the NY state wants to put it on a national register. I.also did the upgrade on the Simplex and it works great. The farmer has a piece of history in his hands. Please note that he has never seen this type of door knob in the house, even when his grandfather lived there.
T.y. and happy m.d.2020
Review by Michael on May 29, 2020I have been metal detecting on and off loosely for more than 15 yrs, don't go out a lot but when I do its typically all day. I've owned a 2 Minelab "Sovereign GT and I have a Equinox 600, Whites Machines, Garrett AT Pro and now one of these. I do most of my detecting at the beach or in shallow water. The first day out with this detector I found roughly $2 dollars in coins and one mans gold ring, 14K. I don't want to sound novice but I've never found a gold ring before, always something else, cheap fake, silver but never a gold ring. Now, I'm sure my Equinox would have found it but it didn't since I left it at home that day. This machine on a beach with lots of mineralization "iron" or black sand isn't nearly as good as the Equinox, many signals, ground balanced often and reduced power levels. Don't get me wrong a coin was still detectable but you needed to really pay attention or you could be digging all day long. This problem became evident at Sunset Beach, Tarpon Springs, FL but I still was pulling out pull tabs and a few recent coin drops out of the sand. This machine with the stock coil is a bear to drag through the water too much resistance, so I won't do that unless its super shallow or very calm back water. Noka/Makro needs a smaller coil for water or tight areas but for quick sand/land coverage this coil is fine. I will be using my Equinox with the smallest coil from now when I go into the surf as my shoulder is killing me. I don't think you could buy a better machine for the price, especially that could go on the wet beach, water for the money. I'm sure this machine alone will be bringing more people into the hobby as its easier to do at this price point.
Review by Todd on April 29, 2020I've ran 30 plus detectors through my test bed and this things outdid most all of them, point blank. Nokta should be advertising this for $450 or more and Kellyco is the only place to buy detectors if you don't already know!
Review by Jerry The Mining Monkey on February 12, 2020I have to admit this machine is "Simply Unrivaled" in its class especially for the pricepoint that it sits at. The quality and craftsmanship of the control box is superior, the rubberized thick handle is definitively rugged. My first day out in the park took awhile to get use to the settings, especially learning to adapt to a different VDI scale since I have been using whites electronics detectors exclusively for over 20 years. Why change? simply because of this machines price point and versatility namely (wireless headphone capability, waterproof, collapsible Shaft system).Oh and there is nothing wrong with trying something new either. On my first day out at the park I found some clad coins, i never have to this park so i was getting use to that as well. I used the park mode program and I left all the settings default. I did run into some EMI from my Whites TRX poinpointer, everytime I turned it on i would get a slight "pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop" sound. I tried to adjust using the F1,F2,F3 frequency scans setting but that didn't help, I then reduced the sensitivity and that reduced the pop level but not entirely. I did have some powerlines nearby which may have contributed to the poppping, but what was throwing me off was when i turned on the TRX thats when the popping would start, once off popping was gone. So, if the popping stopped when the TRX turned on then logically i would tend to think it was the pinpointer and the SImplex just not cooperating to get along.
Day 2 at a different park went incredibly well and I was stoked at the machines ability to separate targets even if there were different clad coins buried together (see my youtube video and watch to see what I mean). I found a couple of coin spills and quite frankly I'm afraid to say that this SImplex+ would run circles around my Whites TreasurePro and for a lot less money. I will say that when I was at the park on my day 2 hunt and there were no power lines and my TRX pinpointer and SImplex+ got along with "NO" popping sounds. So it had to have been the power lines doing some funky stuff. Watch my video on youtube of the Day 2 coin spill and successful digs with a surprise find!! just copy and paste the link below.
Review by nature freak on February 2, 2020Ordered on Friday, received on Saturday. How did they do that?! I'm 2 states away. The detector looks and feels well made. Great value. Can't wait to use it.
Review by RayRay on January 26, 2020I've been detecting for over 45 years starting out with BFO machines. I want to start getting into lake detecting which I've never done much of. The Simplex seems to fit the bill for the price. I'm not submerging a $1,000 metal detector rated for 3 meters when the Simplex has the depth capabilities for a fourth of the price. Nokta figured out what everyone else hasn't over 50 years. Vibration, upgradable, flashlight, back lit display, ease of use, waterproof, depth, and $250!
Review by MT Digger on January 25, 2020Super glad I chose the Nokta Makro Simplex+ Its truly a game changer, getting people on a budget into the hobby. Also, I highly recommend Kellyco as your purchase place! You may save a couple of dollars buying on e-bay or Amazon, stick with the pros, you will not regret it.
Review by ruger on January 18, 2020So far I’m satisfied with product . As name says , SIMPLEX+, it’s simple to operate.
Review by Mike on January 11, 2020Overall a very good and easy to operate machine.! Great value for the price.!! Kellyco is my go to company for detector needs.! Great fast service every time.!!
Review by Gary on January 10, 2020Nice fast great job
Review by Brian on January 2, 2020This is the first detector I ever owned that I could discrim out a pull tab with air test, and still get the nickle loud and clear. Sure anxious for better weather to get it out to an old church I found..
Review by Bobby on December 30, 2019All I can say is wow! Ordered the Simplex+ mid-dayish Dec 27th. Received it just after noon on the 28th via FedEx - even though I chose regular shipping for $7.
Review by Demoman on December 30, 2019Excellent service and love the detector. Has features similar to 7-800$ detectors. So far, so good!
Review by Peter on December 30, 2019Great buy
Review by Peter on December 27, 2019Best buy for the price! You can't beat it.
Review by ED on December 22, 2019I was excited when the Simplex arrived from KellyCo. The first place I took it was to a small 100 yard square spot that has produced a USA Continental Army button, Civil War buttons and 100 ‘s of Colonial artifacts. The last time I took the Garett in there I came out with one flat button. I was in field mode with the Simplex and after three and a half hours I came out with part of a shako hat, three buttons, a brass musket part, and a good blade. This place has been pounded.
Next I took my five year old with me to a place for a hour and a half that has produced everything in USA history including a tree schilling. The place has been pounded, pounded, and pounded. Guess what the first signal in park mode was? it was war nickel. We then got Zouave button. It was so much fun. This is what I think of the Simplex put a blindfold on a trust the sound but ignore the chatters. Like the wise old owl in the oak.
Review by ParkMan on December 20, 2019Kellyco gives excellent and friendly service. The Simplex+ I purchased from them performed exactly as stated. They made no outlandish performance claims. I received exactly what I was expecting. Now as for the Simplex+ I only gave it an A- because I wish some of the features were slightly different. Mostly in the area of discrimination. The notch filter works as stated. However in the real word there are junk items that ring up with the same numbers as valuable coins. Take nickels and 2 hole pull tabs. Both ring up as 24-25. They are completely different metals but their electrical characteristics are very close. If there was a continuously variable slider control available you could eliminate the pull tab. I have found that if you go slow over it and at different angles there is a difference in audio sounds for the pull tab and not as much for the nickel. This us not a fault of the detector design so I am not blaming anyone, especially Kellyco. They only sell them. Another item is the balance center point of the machine for the size of the coil. It should fall at the handle, but doesn't. Would I purchase it again? Absolutely.
Review by Tom on December 19, 2019I'm new at metal detecting. I really like doing everything that I've read about with the Simplex+
Review by Waylon Joy on December 18, 2019I was considering purchasing an Ace 400 or something similar. I am fairly new to the detecting hobby . A friend at my detecting club said hey have you heard of the Simplex.
Well, now I own one and wow. It has awesome depth, waterproof. 4 modes. This thing is way more rugged than I thought and is easy to swing. What a pleasure to use . Its a turn on and go detector with advanced options. I know anyone other company would have charged 3 times the asking price for this. a 13 inch coil will get depth and it has unmasking abilities that will shock you. Great machine, I look forward to using it to find treasure!
Review by Earthfisher on December 18, 2019Great machine !! Incredible depth, super easy to use. Highly recommended for beginners and detecting veterans as well !!
Review by Light in the Sky on December 18, 2019I been waiting for a long time and saving and for this moment to finally buy me a good metal detector. My first water proof metal detector got stolen from my vehicle and I spent 1k for that one so i been watching so many YouTube videos about the best metal detector for the best price and everyone is talking good about the Nokta Makro Simplex + and i fall in love with this one. It's simple to use and powerful also water proof, rechargeable and you can update the unit.
I also bought the Nokta Makro Pulsedive Scuba Detector - Yellow
You can't go wrong on that one. Pinpointer and Scuba detector, rechargeable and has flash light too.
Both units are the Best one so far for the price.
Review by Marilyn on December 17, 2019Kellyco and the Simplex are the best. Thanks Kellyco for being on point with the price and advertising and the Simplex is an awesome metal detector. I would and do recommend it to everyone young and old. Thank you
Review by Southern Relics on December 17, 2019I received this detector quickly after they arrived on their shelves. The detector is easy to use, even without reading the instructions. I look forward to seeing what cool relics and coins I can pull out of the ground with it.
Review by Rickey Lester on December 17, 2019This detector has so many options. Im a rookie and this blows me away. Pinpointer, Ground Balance and so much more.
Review by SIMPLEX on December 17, 2019Can't wait to get on the beach searching for treasures!
Review by rowdy on December 17, 2019Just got my Simplex and like the detector. Its not going to replace my Equinox but for the pricepoint its a good value. The only complaint is that I did NOT get the bundle that's advertised or a cap. I will say that I think I should've gotten the one with the wireless headphones. I tried the set that I use on my Equinox but couldn't get it to work. Guess I'll be using my wired headphones. Has anyone heard of a carry case for the Simplex?
Review by Joe J on December 17, 2019Excellent features for the price
Review by Rick on December 17, 2019First off, extra wide D Coil. A light, vibration in the handle, backlight. This is a breath of fresh air for the detector community. Downloadable updates. Nokta has gone far and above on this. The depth it can receive signals is enhanced. 15 inches down I hit something. So many settings for us to use its unreal. Ground balancing. And it feels great to carry. Light weight. No batteries to replace, just charge it up and go. Waterproof, it can go 10 feet down in the water. There is just so much this has to offer. Whether you be experienced or a rookie like me this machine for the price is incredible.
Review by Dennis V. on December 17, 2019Have not used it yet because of the 2 feet of snow, but it seems to be well built and if it works as well as they say it will be hard to beat for the price. Kellyco was awesome to work with. Always helpful and deliver what they say.
Review by John S on December 15, 2019The Simplex is as advertised. I have have yet to try it on the beach, but so far so good.
Kellyco is also as advertised, the best!
Review by Mike on December 15, 2019I've been hunting for over 40 years using top, high end detectors. I'm now at the point where I an tired of constantly tinkering with my settings for that magic mix. I got my Simplex last week and went to two trashy sites I have hunted many times. I was able to avoid most trash, found coins 1st thing at both locations, and was truly amazed how little time it took to get comfortable with the Nokta. For me, this is what I needed to make dirt fishing fun again.
Review by ruster88 on November 22, 2019The detectors i own are the harbor freight $50 detector I bought to find my sons $300 glasses. It worked. I borrowed a cheaper BH to find my same sons wedding ring. It worked. I am a you tube educated novice. But so far my limited experience with the Simplex has been great. Kellyco was great in getting my reserved simplex to me 3 weeks before their estimated delivery date, under the circumstances. It is winter here, but in the Spring I will buy a pinpointer and Kellyco is at the top of my vendor list.
Review by Luis F Rezza on November 17, 2019Thank you for the amazing service! This was my first experience with Kelylco Detectors, and it was a pleasant encounter. You provided me with rapid service, was pleasant to work with, and when you were unsure of how to proceed, you found accurate answers in a expeditious manner.
Review by Sean on November 15, 2019The metal detector is doing very good. Went 14 inches for half dollar. Wow. But I touch little vibration low and need more strong vibration.
Review by edward on November 15, 2019Unboxed last night. I have the 3D system Makro puts out, so am used to some complex stuff, but the Simplex+ is something to be learned. Auto ground balance is a gift from heaven.lol.
Will check back in when I have some finds. I was so eager to try it out I was out in 30 degree weather in the dark.
