The Magnetar 9000 is Nokta’s first pulse induction (PI) metal detector, a flagship entry into serious gold prospecting after 20+ years of VLF and SMF production.
It runs three core technologies: advanced PI, Active Magnetic Sensor (AMS), and the Dual-Receiver Coil (DRC) system. The combination handles deep gold and sub-gram nuggets in highly mineralized ground where conventional VLF detectors struggle. The detector is fully submersible to 10 ft (3 m), built on a telescopic carbon fiber shaft, and ships with two DRC search coils, two batteries, Bluetooth headphones, and a full field accessory kit.

Pulse induction detectors transmit short, high-power pulses of current through the search coil and measure the decay signal returned from conductive targets. Unlike single- or multi-frequency VLF detectors, PI machines are largely unaffected by ground mineralization. They’re the standard for prospecting in iron-rich soils, hot rocks, black sand, and saltwater beaches, where VLF detectors lose depth and stability.
The Magnetar 9000 runs on Nokta’s Advanced Pulse Induction platform with auto noise cancellation, which scans the operating environment for electromagnetic interference and selects the cleanest channel automatically.

The DRC system gives the Magnetar 9000 two receive channels operating in parallel from a single search coil. This lets the detector maintain clear target response across two sensitivity ranges at once. It picks up small low-conductivity targets like micro-nuggets without giving up detection depth on larger, deeper targets.
That addresses a familiar tradeoff in PI design: machines tuned for depth on larger targets typically lose sensitivity to sub-gram gold, while ones optimized for micro-nuggets give up depth on bigger targets. DRC handles both without coil swapping or running a second machine.

Two DRC coils are included in the box:
Both coils are fully waterproof and rated to the same submersion depth as the control unit.
Easy Mode runs on pre-configured factory settings with a simplified menu. Power on and start detecting, no setup required. Expert Mode opens up the full parameter set for ground balance, sensitivity, audio response, and other advanced controls.
The Magnetar 9000 carries an IP68 rating, the highest in the IP scale for solid and liquid ingress. The “6” means complete dust-tight protection, and the “8” means continuous submersion, in this case to 3 m (10 ft). Control unit, coils, and connections are all sealed for use in freshwater, saltwater, and wet beach hunting.
Three-section telescopic carbon fiber shaft, extending to 59" (150 cm) and collapsing to 28" (72 cm) for transport. The detector weighs 5.3 lb (2.4 kg) with the 11" coil and battery installed, 6.2 lb (2.8 kg) with the 14.5" coil. Carbon fiber keeps weight down and rigidity up, which matters when you’re swinging for hours.
Three audio paths: a built-in loudspeaker, a 1/4" (6.3 mm) headphone jack for wired headphones, and Bluetooth wireless. Nokta-branded Bluetooth headphones are included in the box, along with a 1/4" adapter cable for non-standard wired headphones. Vibration alerts are also built in.

Full-color LCD, 320 x 240 pixels, 1.9" x 1.5" (49 mm x 37 mm), with backlit display and keypad for low-light operation. A built-in flashlight on the control unit handles night detecting and target recovery.
7.2V DC, 48Wh lithium-ion rechargeable pack rated for up to 10 hours per charge. Two batteries ship in the box, enough for back-to-back full days in the field without recharge downtime. The charging kit includes a wall charger with four international plug adapters, a 12 to 30V DC vehicle charger, a battery clamp cable for charging from a vehicle battery in the field, and a USB charge/data cable that also handles firmware updates.
User-updateable firmware via USB. Multi-language interface.
