Odd Place for a 150 Year-Old Buckle

bullets, parts of harnesses, mule and horse shoes, we were almost ready to stop.

The wind was bad and we were really tired! My friend had quit! I said I'm going to try one more place.

I got a great signal. I dug down about 12 inches, and on the dirt was a strange looking item! It was a U.S. waist belt plate, in very good condition! I had it looked at and it was from the Ohio Volunteers in 1861. In very nice condition, it looks like a horse has stepped on it though. It hasn't hurt it other than it made a slight crease in the back.

All three hooks are present and in very nice condition! Odd place to find a 150 year old buckle! Let me know what you think!
