E-TRAC Finds 200-Year Old piece of History

02/21/16

I was hunting a spot where I had been told was an old war of 1812 area of Ontario on a friend's property. I had just purchased my E-TRAC the week before.

The day after I bought it I started finding some great coins and artifacts. The day was getting late and I had already found several military buttons and coins from the 1812 era. When I went over an area I had hunted numerous times with my old detector, all of the sudden I got a solid high pitch signal.

This meant a nice coin to me. However I kept digging down deep and found no coin. However the signal kept getting stronger. Finally at around 14 inches down I could feel something in the last shovel full of dirt. As I turned over the dirt on the ground to my utter amazement, a War of 1812 Military Breastplate rolled out in front of me!

I crouched down and couldn't move for several minutes in disbelief, looking at a 200 year old piece of history in almost perfect condition.

Since this time I have found many more Military artifacts, 1812 Cameo pedants, coins and even a Gaelic ring from the late 1700's. E-TRAC is by far the best detector I have used. Thanks Minelab!
