A Couple Thousand Dollars Worth of Coins

02/21/16

I headed out to an older part of town this week to investigate a sidewalk tear out my wife and I had seen the night before. I knew the E-TRAC was going to love this spot so first thing the next morning I headed over and within 15 min pulled my first keeper, a 1899-o Barber Quarter!

In about another 30 min came my next keeper, a 1893 Barber dime. Well it was getting hot so I decided to call it for the day and head back as soon as possible. Two days later I was back to the same spot and to my delight the spot had a lot more dirt moved around, time to go back over and see if they uncovered anything else for me.

As it turns out I pull out another quarter right away, this is a 1907-s and within 15 ft I score a 1901-s Barber Dime!! Key date, I wasn't sure of that fact at the time but you can bet I know now. I can see that the next spot they are tearing out should be just as good so you can bet I will be back for more!

Now of course these are what I think are my best finds from this spot but not all my finds, while there I also pulled a 1893 V, tokens and some badly corroded pennies, so bad I can't tell if they are indians or wheats, well two of them are canadian 1940's. Also found a tiny metal tea cup. Who would love having an E-TRAC after two trips out and possibly a couple thousand dollars worth of coins!
