Found a 1918 Walking Liberty Half

My sister gave me permission to hunt her yard here in the Pittsburgh, PA area USA. Her house was built in the 1930s, I think. Found a bunch of clad a few wheat pennies and this 1918 Walking Liberty Half dollar. Terribly worn, but I don't care, it is my first silver half dollar. The second picture is of a Turkish 2 Piastre coin also found in Pennsylvania, found in the yard of my grandparents house. I have no idea how a Turkish coin made its way to PA.

1966 High School Class Ring Found and Returned to Owner

A few months ago I and a detecting friend were using our E-TRACs at an old school playground about 120 miles from home when I got this interesting and strong signal. The thought came to me, "10,000 pull tabs for each gold ring" and when I got to it, BINGO, this long lost class ring popped out! After nearly three months of research and many contacts, I was finally successful in returning the 1966 class ring to its rightful owner. Priceless!!!

Take a Bite Out of Detecting

Out detecting an old picnic grove from the early 1900 in northern New Jersey when my E-TRAC shows a 12-12.

So I dug a plug about 8' down and see a piece of gold foil, after pulling it out of the hole I turned it over and saw the teeth marks. I found someone's gold dental caps. Passed over the hole again and pulled out an old beer bottle cap. Guess he used his teeth to open the beer.

Hunting the surf you can see the long face of a person who has just lost something of great value, on Aug 2013 a guy just lost his gold wedding band in waist deep water, well my E-TRAC isn't waterproof I told him but I will look at low tide, well that came and went like 10 times up til Dec. Friday the 13th my lucky day, and for the guy who lost his ring of course!!! He and his wife live in califonia, and told him the great news, well he is still on the floor as we speak, he is ok !!! So Monday I mail it back to him. Good karma goes along way with me.

Recently, I secured permission to hunt of series of fields. While the targets in a field hunt tend to be more sparse than at parks or home sites, field hunting has a certain appeal in that it is likely that your coil will be the first to pass over much of the terrain.

I have been detecting for years now, no treasure or hidden stash found till now. On a cloudy autumn day together with two fellow "diggers" we decided to go out and scan a forest near Ploiesti, Romania. It was going to be probably one of the last detecting trips for the year of 2013 because it was getting colder each day and in the winter we usually take a long break from our hobby.
