Lady Liberty Hiding in Dirt
Last year while detecting in Wyoming I found a round copper like disk. It looked like a bottle cap. Not seeing anything on it at the time I just put it in my finds pouch. We save all copper, brass and lead for recycling. Also I always save everything and clean it at the end of the day because you can never tell what is underneath all the dirt. Lo and behold under all the dirt was a face of lady liberty and the date 1868. My hunting partner at the time said too bad you don't have the back. Back I said? Yes it is the front half of a token issued by the sutler at Fort Sanders. He had seen one that a friend found. Oh well half a loaf (token) is be...

Surprise in the Park
One afternoon this past July (2014) I grabbed my V3i and decided to go out for an evening hunt. My wife had suggested 3 or 4 times to try this little park not far from our house. I never gave it much thought because I knew the park was not that old and I try to find older places to hunt. Not having too much time I decided to give it a shot. I had only been detecting about 20 feet when I got a good signal at 4" to 5" deep, so I began to cut slightly deeper and out popped this shiny silver coin! It was an 1856 Liberty half dollar and it was in excellent condition! I could not believe it! After doing a little more detecting, I determined tha...

Early US Coin
I never thought I would dig such an early US coin, there are very few found in the field, at first I thought I dug a Braided Hair or a Cornet Head because of the thickness. Me and my friend Gary found this foundation accidently walking back to the car after hunting another foundation with no luck. We were excited about coming back and I glad we did. We both dug 4 coppers all dating to the 1700s,Thanks Whites for the MXT AllPro I could never go without ant other machine....

My first platinum ring.
I have been beach hunting for 8 years and have made some nice finds, but I had never found a platinum ring, but that was soon to change. I arrived at my favorite beach at about 10:30 a.m. I got out my amphibious detector and began hunting the water and wet sand. After 1 1/2 hours of searching with only a few coins and trash items found, I switched to my Ace 250 and began searching the dry sand. I soon began finding clad coins and a few trash items. Then, 40 minutes later, I scooped up a small engagement ring. I picked the ring out of the scoop and looked for markings inside the band. I was very surprised to find the letters IRID PLAT. I had found m...

FORS CoRe finds a .569 oz Silver Nugget!

.569 oz silver nugget! Mid day hunt in August turns up a silver nugget on a wooded lot in Mississippi. Useing my newly purchased Nokta fors core inspired me to brave the heat and head out on a coin shoot. I never expected to find a silver nugget. I thought I had found a meteorite and tested the magnanimity with the magnet I carry with me on my shoulder harness. Contrarily, it was unmagnetic. So, I tested the signal on my fors core coil. A slight signal indicated it must have some metalorelogical properties. Momentarily I headed to the house mostly to escape the heat. The piece cleaned up quickly and shined as bright as a new silver bullio...

Only Complaint I have is it was not Made Sooner!!
Hello I would like to show you and recall with you my last six months using the Velox. First thing after 6 months of twice weekly use in all weathers the machine is as solid as the day I brought it, no creeks or squeak's; a fantastic bit of solid workmanship. This machine has been put up against and beat two machines costing twice the price. (I won’t name them) using the 11 coil on stubble fresh plowed and maize stubble with the 9 inch coil it has found VIKING artifacts more hammered silver than I can remember and over 500 roman coins in the last six months. The only complaint I have is it was not made sooner, keep up the good work. Enjo...
