Built for Deep Gold

The GPZ 7000 runs on ZVT (Zero Voltage Transmission), a technology developed by Minelab engineer Bruce Candy and exclusive to Minelab. ZVT delivers up to 40% more depth than the previous GPX series* and holds that depth in highly mineralized ground. The detector will still pick up smaller pieces, but its real purpose is the deep, multi-ounce nuggets that earlier machines passed over on ground long considered hunted out.

GPZ 14 Super-D Coil

The standard 14" x 13" Super-D coil uses a central transmit winding between two outer receive windings. That layout reduces ground noise and produces sharper target signals in hot soil. The coil is waterproof to 3.3 ft for creek beds and wet ground, and the GPZ 7000 also accepts the larger Minelab GPZ 19 Super-D Coil for operators who want more coverage per swing.

Precision Ground Balance

Automatic ground tracking follows the soil as conditions change under the coil, and the Quick-Trak trigger rebalances instantly without stopping your swing. Ground Type settings for Normal, Difficult, and Severe soil handle most conditions out of the box, while full manual control is there for operators who prefer to tune by hand.

Noise Immunity

With 256 Noise Cancel channels and both automatic and manual noise cancel, the GPZ 7000 keeps atmospheric and electrical interference to a minimum. The result is a smooth, stable threshold where faint signals from deep targets can be heard clearly.

Built-In GPS and Mapping

The GPZ 7000 logs WayPoints, FindPoints, and full GeoHunt tracks as you detect. Synced to Minelab's XChange 2 software (PC only), that data shows on Google Maps, so you can return to productive ground and see exactly what you've already covered.

Wireless Audio

The included WM 12 module carries low-latency Wi-Stream audio to its built-in speaker, the supplied Koss UR-30 headphones, or your own set. There's no cord between you and the control box, which makes long days and frequent digging easier.

Controls and Adjustments

The GPZ 7000 offers 20 sensitivity levels, 50 threshold levels, and 100 audio tone settings, along with adjustable display and keypad backlighting on a full-color LCD. Detect and Map functions are grouped on their own pages, and the built-in Guide Sequences walk new owners through setup.

Worth Knowing Before You Buy

The GPZ 7000 is an all-metal prospecting detector with no discrimination. The control box is weatherproof but not submersible; only the coil goes underwater. A full charge runs approximately 8 hours, and many operators carry a spare Minelab 7.2V Li-Ion battery for full days in the field.
