The Best Treasure One Could Hope For

By: Ron O.

I know, I know, you are probably thinking this is going to be a short story about my wife being the best "Treasure" that I have ever found, and you are absolutely right ! You see, her maiden name really was "Treasure" and she caught my eye right from the start. It all started back in 1983, when we first met. At that time, I was in the early stages of my treasure hunting career. I had met her at the beach, while you guessed it, treasure hunting. We enjoyed in some small talk, and she said to me, "well, I guess you really did find a Treasure today, Treasure is my last name" ! I was floored, when she told me her last name really was Treasure. It's almost as if it was destiny in the making. To make a long story short, we ended up dating for 2 years, and were married in 1985. Two children, Three Grandchildren, and 36 years later, we are still happily married. The license plate on her van has a dual purpose. First, is because it was her maiden name, and second is because of my dedication to the treasure hunting hobby. So you see, not all treasures have to be found underground with a detector and shovel, some of them can be "eyeball finds" ! Although my wife does not detect with me, she is always excited to see my finds when I return from an outing. I could metal detect for the rest of my life, and never find another Treasure as special as the one that walked into my life on that exciting day back in 1983.
