The Nokta Makro Simplex is one of our most popular new metal detectors, and for good reason.
It’s easy to use straight out of the box, and finds targets that other metal detectors leave behind. It’s also very affordable. Based on our customers’ reviews, the Nokta Makro Simplex detector performs right up there with our top-of-the-line detectors.
The Simplex is cheap, but performs like a high-end detector. It’s lightweight and compact enough to fit in a backpack.
Kellyco sent out a dozen Simplexes for our customers to test out and review. Every one of them reported that it was a top performer.
“With the depth, recovery speed, wireless headphones, waterproof capability, light weight and entry level price, this machine is guaranteed to fit into your lineup,” said Kellyco customer and test user Scott Troekler. “The Nokta Makro Simplex runs a constant threshold in all metal mode. Park mode has very quick recovery speed and is ideal for trashy sites like curb strips. Field mode is fantastic. It’s a deep hitting mode that will find relics, coins and jewelry! Beach mode has a stable search on the beach and salt water.”
Factory Included Accessories:
Metal Detector System Control Box
Waterproof DD Search Coil 28cm / 11" (SP28) & Cover
USB Charging & Data Cable
Nokta Maro Wireless Headphones
User Manual & Warranty Certificate
To set up the Simplex, just plug in the headphones and turn it on. It really is that simple. One important thing to note is that while the Nokta | Makro Simplex is waterproof, the headphones are not.
It works right out of the box, but it does offer the opportunity to manually adjust your settings. The detector will start in the two-tone field mode when it’s turned on. You can then change the mode based on ground conditions.
The Simplex features four search modes: all metal, field, park and beach.
If you’re new to detecting, lay out different types of metals on the ground and experiment with your detector to get used to the tones. Adjust the sensitivity and discrimination and see what changes. It’s a fun experiment and will help you out in the long run.
The Nokta Makro Simplex metal detector includes 4 search modes: All Metal, Park, Field and Beach.
The "All Metal" mode on the Simplex metal detector means that nothing is filtered out. It will recognize all types of metals, including a lot of junk. This mode on the Simplex provides incredible depth while maintaining excellent separation and target ID indicators. You will have to ground balance.
It’s an easy mode to use. With its steady, ultra-sensitive threshold, targets that would normally be out of reach suddenly come to life.
For those of you that are new to metal detecting, the threshold is the constant “hum” you hear in the background. When your discrimination setting is turned on, you hear a tone break in the hum when you’re hovering over something of value. It’s going to hum until you hit the target. The Nokta | Makro Simplex is very sensitive and will pause whenever it knows something is there.
The "Park" mode on the Nokta | Makro Simplex is effective at separating out the hidden treasures in sites with undesirable targets. It finds the good stuff, even when it’s surrounded by trash. Park mode uses a three-tone detecting mode, meaning the tones are different for different types of metal. Generally, the low tones are iron, mid-tones are brass and high-tones are more valuable metals.
Parks are typically very trashy with lots of junk. The discrimination settings make the Simplex a winner here. It’s got a fast response time and the target separation features go a long way.
This mode is a comfortable starting point for beginners. It’s best for metal detecting in yards and parks, where accurate target identification is central to your success. Coin shooting is also a blast in this mode.
The Simplex hits on small gold jewelry very well. It identifies targets with a nice, clean sound and has excellent separation and discrimination abilities.
“Park mode was by far my favorite,” said customer Mike Keefer. “It has three tones: low, mid and high. I’m used to those tones with my current detector. Field mode is the deeper of the settings, but unfortunately it only has two tones. I’ve tried it in my town park and there was just too much junk in the ground. The Simplex’s back light and flashlight are a pretty cool design. I’ve paid good money for name brand machines that don’t even have a backlight, so this is a big plus. I also love the freedom the wireless headphones offer.”
Keefer reported finding some nice relics, including a Civil War three-ringer bullet at almost 10 inches deep in a local park that gets hunted frequently.
“I dug wheat cents at 8 inches, which is pretty impressive,” he said. “The discrimination is great with a quick, speedy recovery. I have used some top-brand detectors, and this hangs right in there with them for half the price! It’s a great little machine.”
"Field" mode is a great choice for relic hunters. You’ll get little to no unwanted signals due to its two-tone audio and ferrous and non-ferrous metals are easy to distinguish. Farm fields, woods and sites with little to no unwanted signals are the domain of field mode.
This detector has accurate target response and great depth, which makes relic hunting that much easier.
Kellyco VIP affiliate Matt Ryan was using his Simplex in field mode when he got a great signal ringing up lower than a penny. His sensitivity setting was turned up halfway.
“I picked that location because the trees were really old,” Ryan said. “That is usually something that I pay attention to. I used field mode because it seems a lot deeper than the other modes to me, and I prefer the tones on it. After I cut the plug and used my pinpointer to locate the coin, I realized I had dug up an old coin. Completely shocked, I looked at the coin and realized I dug up an 1863 Civil War era Indian Head Penny. It’s the oldest coin that I have ever found.”
The Nokta | Makro Simplex's beach mode excels in salty, wet sand conditions. With the ability to ground balance between the ranges of 0-99.8 while ignoring ground noise and ferrous targets, the Nokta Makro Simplex is able to locate targets effectively in even the most mineralized beaches. This setting allows you to ignore iron and similar targets and perform ground balance on any type of ground.
For those seeking their treasures along the coastlines or in highly mineralized soil conditions "Beach" mode will up your finds count and lower your blood pressure, according to customer Chris Armstrong.
“The Nokta Simplex is all that the name implies,” he said. “Simple to use, with the features, power and depth to instill confidence in an expert user. Don't let the price point fool you — the intelligent design, rugged waterproof build quality, ability to be updated and easy to use features of the Simplex will leave enthusiasts of any age or ability feeling that they are making no compromise in choosing this machine.”
Evaluation of Features
Auto Ground Balance vs. Manual Ground Balance
Manual ground balance is useful in cases where automatic ground balance can’t be achieved, or in instances where you may want to tweak the metal detector in any given soil condition. The auto ground balance feature of the Simplex is extremely accurate. The detector has streamlined manual ground balancing into a few simple steps. It will feel familiar to experienced users, and beginners will get the hang of it quickly.
The Nokta | Makro Simplex’s notch discrimination is easy to set up. Discriminating in segments of five, the Simplex allows for quick, easy to use notch filtering.
If you are detecting in a very trashy area and the detector is getting too many iron signals, instead of notch discrimination, you can use the "Iron Volume" setting to lower or completely turn off the volume of ferrous metals. This will allow your Simplex to find targets deeper in the ground.
Vibration mode surprised some of our test users. The handle vibrates when a target is identified, and also along with a notification on the display and an audible tone. If you’re hearing impaired, detecting in a noisy environment, or not using headphones and don’t want to disturb people around you, it’s a useful feature. This feature could drain your battery life faster, though.
One benefit of having a waterproof detector that has nothing to do with detecting: cleaning your machine! Our test users were happy to be able to wash off the Simplex without having to worry about getting the control box wet. The wireless connection will be lost as soon as the system box is submerged completely underwater, however. Keep in mind that the wireless headphones are not waterproof.
A sturdy design, light weight and ability to accurately identify targets are the keys to a successful waterproof detector.
“Sturdy design, light weight and accurately identifying targets are the keys to a successful waterproof detector,” said Armstrong. “Excelling in these factors along with intelligent, forward thinking design elements such as a collapsible shaft, and a backlit screen are why the Simplex is moving towards becoming the machine of choice for water hunting.”
Test user Javi Blanco agreed.
“The waterproof features on the Simplex make everything easier,” he said.
Blanco was also thrilled with the battery life.
“The battery life is excellent,” he said. “I’m very happy with the Simplex and would rate every feature a 10/10.”
The battery life on the Nokta | Makro Simplex is above average. One test user reported detecting for two days in a row and losing only two bars of power. It allows for 12 hours of continuous use in both hot and cold temperatures.
Extreme temperatures can affect the battery life and the Simplex’s performance. Be cautious of overheating.
If the battery does die, the detector can be run off an external USB battery charger. These are solar powered and extend the time you can be out detecting!
If you need to charge the detector before use, it only takes about three hours.
The screen is easy to read in both bright and dark conditions. The hunt light is great for night time detecting. It shines down onto the coil, which can extend your detecting time as long as you want. The back light offers adjustable brightness as well as an automatic setting.
With three levels of brightness and a large, easy-to-read screen, all the information is right at your fingertips no matter the time of day.
There is no lag time between the detector and the headphones. The detector’s wireless headphones provide crisp, concise responses to even the smallest of targets. If you’ve never hunted with wireless headphones, get ready to feel unleashed! You won’t be tethered to your detector. These are very comfortable to wear, according to many of our customers.
If you’ve used the Simplex in salty water:
Wash the system box, shaft and the coil with tap water and be sure no salt water is left in the connectors.
Do not use any chemicals for cleaning and/or for any other purposes.
Wipe the screen and the shaft dry with a soft, non-scratch cloth.
Don’t carry metal objects while using the Simplex. Keep the detector away from your shoes while walking — it could detect metal on you or inside your shoes.
Nokta | Makro was founded in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2001, as just Nokta Detectors. It expanded its research and development team in 2011 and made significant investments in terms of developing new detection technologies. It acquired Makro Detectors in 2014, and now exports to more than 150 countries in six continents.

Review by Gregg on January 21, 2021This is my first and love it. Light weight & well balanced, very easy to understand controls. Would recommend to anyone wanting to start out. Have been out with it a half dozen times, have not found any coins, but have located about half a 5 gallon bucket of scrap around our property so far. Hoping to train myself to be proficient in the sport before venturing off to other locations.
Review by Scott on January 21, 2021best detector I've ever owned and I've owned 14 different ones
Review by Mark Ray on December 24, 2020Absolutely the best customer service! My first Simplex had a factory defect, KellyCo replaced it in record time and I highly recommend them!
Review by RedDog on November 29, 2020I have had my Nokta Makro Simplex for almost a year and it has performed very well on different soil types. I am very pleased with the light weight and the depth I have been able to detect and retrieve targets.
Review by MigColG on November 15, 2020This is absolutely the best value for the money. I augmented the machine with the SP 24 (9.5 X 5 inch) coil. The machine is deep, fast and accurate. The separation is excellent, and improves with the smaller coil. First coin found was a 1945 Walking Liberty Half, the second was a 1901 Barber Dime. The half with the stock coil, deep in open ground. The second with the smaller coil at 7 inches in trashy ground.
Review by Bunny on October 31, 2020I have had mine for about a year now. I have great luck with it! It is definitely worth the price!
Review by Ryan F on October 30, 2020I had the pleasure of trying this machine out at a digging event. The machine is very well made and light, and the cost is perfect for even a beginner detectorist.
Review by Nick on October 21, 2020I'm new at metal detecting. Purchased the nokta simplex. Very reseasonible priced. Very simple to use. Spend the entire day in a open field and found all kinds of stuff. Awesome metal detector.
Review by Jeff on October 20, 2020I revisited the first location that I ever detected when I was 12 years old, I'm 57 now. First hunt with the Simplex was 3 hours and what can I say. Over 3 dollars of clad and a silver 1946 Rosie. The separation of signals on the Simplex is great and the VDI seems consistent for the same coins from spot to spot. I haven't put those to memory as of yet, but I will. I love this machine and I feel sorry for my White's. It's going to gather some dust now. Sorry old friend I'll miss you but there is a new Sheriff in town. Thank you Kellyco for the fast delivery and great price.
Review by Mark H on October 20, 2020When I finally decided to go digital I decided on the Simplex + detector. So glad I did the speed recovery and depth of this unit is unheard of at this price. Great identification great relic detector. But I have to say it’s also a great coin shooter. This detector is great for a beginner ax it’s user friendly but I’ve detected for years and highly recommend it. Get ya one.
Review by Jeff R. on October 12, 2020This is my first detector and I am very pleased. It is very user-friendly and identifies targets beyond my expectations. I would definitely recommend the Simplex for beginners and experienced treasure hunters alike. Highly impressed that Nokta/Macro offers updates an no additional charge - making the machine better each time.
Review by MAC on October 12, 2020I got my Simplex in order to spend more time with my kids (2 girls, 10yrs & 6yrs). We got it at the beginning of summer and have spent every free min treasure hunting. Now both girls want their own detectors. So far, the highlights are $10+ in quarters, 1 Buffalo nickel, 1867 Indian penny (key date!), & a gold/diamond engagement ring! In summary, great detector, super price, wonderful company (Kellyco), irreplaceable memories with my daughters. Thank you Nokta and Kellyco.
Review by Dirtfisher 02807 on October 12, 2020Since purchasing the simplex+ I have found approximately 7 Indian head pennies a draped bust large cent which I can’t make a date out on and a bunch of rings on the beach. The beach is really tough to understand as the target ID’s are all over the place. but Anyway I love the machine and have recommended it to a friend of mine who wants to get into detecting machine is a little chattery I have not done the update to 2.78 yet so only time will tell if that update will pay off.
Review by RAM Detecting on October 12, 2020The Simplex is absolutely the best value at any price!! The Simplex has all the features that detectors at a much higher price point has. Rechargeable battery, wireless headphones, Waterproof, yes Waterproof!! Back lit display, it’s upgradable which shows Nokta Makro’s commitment to this detector. You also can get different coils to fit your needs!! The Simplex is a detector a newbie or a advanced Detectorest will love!! Can’t recommend it enough!
Review by Tom on October 12, 2020Chose the Simplex+ after reading around, and am glad. Did a test with 4 coins to get comfortable and found a 5th item a foot away from one of my 'plants'. Great encouragement! Took it out yesterday, first time "in the wild" and found a coin 4" down. I'm a rookie but this this thing is saying "come on, you can do this!"
Review by Dirthole on April 18, 2020My friend and I just did the new update and wow! What's the buzz all about? Makes it work better and go slightly deeper. I use field most of the time on the old farms here in NY. Today was a good day. Ground was very moist.and coins were being found. 1918 penny and 1915 silver at 8 inches deep. Now Kellyco, you know your metal detectors! Get out there boys and dig your dirt hole!
Review by Dirt Sweeper on February 25, 2020I've been using this machine for 2 months. This detector is everything I could have hoped for! It has become, for me, my number one detector! A great deal for the money! Get one and get some!!
Review by SilverSeeker on January 22, 2020I have used Whites and Garrett and this one has them both beat. The price was about half of what I paid for my other detectors. I ordered it on a Sunday (with regular shipping) and received it Tuesday morning! (I live in Northern Kentucky). I can't find a negative thing to say.
Review by Shanedog1 on January 17, 2020Haven’t had a chance to use it yet but I sure do like the size of it for transporting in a backpack
Review by Dan Syl on January 16, 2020First find with Simplex 1920 mercury dime. Own old Whites 6000di Series 2. Simplex detector is outstanding in the field. Depth an ID really outstanding. Such a good price at 254 dollars from Kellyco. Buy one, you won't be sorry .
Review by TJ on January 12, 2020The Nokta Simplex is simply a fantastic machine. Quality products with an affordable price. What more could you ask for? Awesome service and support from Kellyco. I received all of the above so I am a happy detectorist. Thanks Kellyco!
Review by Glenda on January 10, 2020I love my Nokta Makro Simplex+ Metal Detector! I'm waiting for the weather to warm up so I can detect around our property. Love the large coil. Great sale price and fast shipping. It's my Christmas and birthday present.
Review by Jerry on January 8, 2020Above and beyond all others, Kellyco immediately replied to my email and even called me to make sure I was satisfied. Thank you Leilani and everyone I talked to for your service. I will only buy from Kellyco from now on. Due to weather haven’t had a chance to use my new detector.
Review by SusieQue96 on January 7, 2020I’m selling my almost new Ace 300–the Nokta Makro Simplex is hands down a better all around detector and much easier to swing even though it weighs the same.
Only complaint is that they sent a European charger instead of US but they’re fixing that.
Review by BoJack on January 6, 2020After using an older Garrett for years, I decided to get on the hype train and try the Simplex. It's great! For an amateur like me it was easy to use right out of the box, lightweight, intuitive, and side by side with the Garrett it went deeper in iron-rich Va. clay. The headphones are lightweight and comfortable to wear for hours and hours as well. I'm very pleased and can't wait for that first big find with it. For the money I don't see how it can be beat.
Furthermore, Kellyco is awesome and I will continue to be loyal to them.
Review by Dragonfly on January 5, 2020The Simplex far surpassed my expectations for the price. It finds deep artifacts in areas of very heavy trash and helps you pull the good targets, even with large iron on or beside them in the ground. I have been very impressed with the performance so far and look forward to more hunting with the Simplex.
Review by Johnmac on January 3, 2020Got my order yesterday, went out in back 40 and pulled some modern clad but at impressive depth, dime at around 8-10in and copper Lincoln's 6-8in under roots that I've passed over before w my old whites detector. OVERALL HAPPY with PURCHASE AND KELLYCO you guys are doing it right. STARTING OUT NEW YEAR W NOKTA MAKRO off to a great start, thanks Kellyco!
Review by Grant on December 29, 2019Well made. Simple assembly. Intuitive functions. Easy to use. Good value. Shipped promptly
Review by Rich on December 29, 2019Features, power and performance galore. Thank you Kelly for a great price and fast shipping. Had the Simplex for two days now. I like it so much that I had to go out in the rain today to pick up where I left off yesterday. The Simplex picks up the tiniest objects deep! Again, thanks Kelly for the most excellent Tech Support and Sales Experience. You folks ROCK! :)
Review by Mountain Mettling on December 28, 2019Fantastically smooth transaction with KellyCo! Impeccable customer service! And one AMAZING machine! The Nokta Makro Simplex+ is such an incredible detector! All the bells and whistles, plus more!
Thank you so much gang!
Review by RickRock33 on December 26, 2019Received my new machine and got familiar with it in about an hour. Looked for Civil War relics on our farm and came up with several horse/mule shoes, 2 buckles, a saddle cinch buckle, and several bullets. Tried for a bit around an old house and found 60 cents of modern coins. Still learning with my first detector but satisfied with the Simplex so far!
Review by Simplex on December 26, 2019My Simplex arrived in time for Christmas. Just at the stage of getting everything assembled and working through the manual. All appears well made and easy to use. I’ve heard lots of good things about the Simplex particularly in iron. I’m anxious to give it a whirl in some spots I have. Also looking forward to working in the salt water when it gets warmer. More in the future.
Review by Dubie on December 26, 2019Easy to use, lightweight. Nice product
Review by Steve on December 25, 2019Excellent
Review by Mitch on December 24, 2019As someone who only owned Fishers, moving to this machine came with a definite learning curve. I'm still trying to get used to the controls since they're not yet intuitive for me, but I still had success with my first test run. Detecting on a cold NJ beach in December I was limited to shallow water and the sand. Found a nickel in the wet sand (steady 24 signal) - something my Fishers couldn't do - as the beach mode allowed for extra fine-tuning of the discrimination. Found plenty of other coins in the dry sand, too. Nice depth of signals (pull tab at 12"+). Easy to sync the wireless headset and minimal lag of the signals. Can't wait for the warmer weather to try her deeper in the water. Since the wireless headset is NOT waterproof, the vibration-only mode will come in handy.
One important note on beach hunting... you need to either have the coil above the water or completely below the water, because any time the coil hits the border between air and water (in either direction) it'll false. Hard to do when you're detecting at the edge of the water, but no problem once you're waist deep.
So far, so good. Definitely worth the money if you want a low-buck option that easily competes with the big boys.
Review by Joe on December 21, 2019It takes just a few hours to learn your machine! Listen to it, look at your numbers. You can even feel this machine! I think it is killer!! It's so simple, that's why they call it the Simplex! It's got a sound of its own. I just love it. I think its better than the Nox and a lot cheaper! Why do you think they had to update again? To keep up with this new killer machine!
Review by Karl on December 20, 2019I used to have a metal detector many years ago (over 20). It was heavy, expensive and not a great experience to use. This new Simplex+ is everything a great detector should be. Very lightweight to use, controls are very intuitive and work like you would expect. The price is hard to believe for everything included and it makes detecting fun again. What more could you ask for out out a detector at this level. Well done and thanks Nokta Makro.
Review by Gary on December 20, 2019So easy to use. So simple to use right out of the box. Headphones paired with no problem. This Nokta Makro Simplex puts my old Garrett GTA 1000 on the shelf for now. Also works well with my Garrett Carrot pinpointer. I found some very interesting relics with it. Thank you Nokta Makro and Kellyco!!!!
Review by Fungi on December 20, 2019I got it for my girlfriend for her first detector as a Christmas present. Haven't gotten to use it yet, but still deciding to keep it for myself.
Review by Barry on December 19, 2019First day out was great. Felt confident using it in the rain. Found coins that I'd passed over previously with my old detector.
Review by Paul on December 19, 2019Looks great, can't wait to use it!
Review by Bo on December 19, 2019A lot of reviews say the Simplex is a good starter or back up detector and I couldnt disagree more. I only detect beaches and the Simplex is a Beast right out of the box, charge and go. The Simplex will perform as good as any detector out there for a fraction of the cost and has features that other higher end machines dont. The Simplex is rugged, lightweight, compact and deep. The speaker is loud enough to be heard over the surf on those days when I dont feel like using the comfortable lightweight wireless headphones. Night hunting is a pleasure with the backlit display and built in flashlight and dont forget the vibrate mode for water hunting. Dont get caught up in the hype, if you want to detect without breaking the bank the Simplex is for you.
Review by Michael on December 19, 2019I have five machines in my house: A Garrett ATX, Garrett AT Max, Garrett ACE 400, a Fisher F22 and a Quest Q20. I recently got the Simplex+ and holy smokes am I blown away. I never take my AT Max out anymore because of how noisy it is. The Simplex seems completely invincible to telephone, electric lines, and EM. I have never been directly under an electric line and the detector not make a peep. This detector is deep, fast, discriminates, is waterproof, and everything you could ever want in a metal detector!
Review by Alex M on December 18, 2019Right from the start, the look and feel of this detector is simply wonderful. I love how adjustable everything on this thing is. Sounds over targets are strong and promising. Also for the ppl that have a hard time swinging for hours this detector is super light weight and easy to swing. So far so great!
Review by Ronnie on December 18, 2019Great machine. Very good value!
Review by Hal on December 17, 2019This machine has turned back time to when a buck was worth buck in terms of value for your money... It is simply Simplex!
Review by Mottley on December 17, 2019I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He already has 2 other metal detectors but has had his eye on the Simplex ever since he first heard great stories about it. I know he's going to love it and will be spending many hours getting exercise in the outdoors!
Review by Tj on December 17, 2019Works great!
Review by OhioRiverHistory on December 17, 2019This machine has everything it needs to compete with the big boys!! The Simplex hits deep targets and has a ton of features for the money. I would recommend this to be a great starter machine, or a back up to a more serious detectorist. No fear with this purchase. It is as advertised!!
Review by Gene on December 17, 2019Great build, solid, light machine. Right up there with the $1000.00 machines. Nokta Makro is one of the better machines not only for entry level Detectorists but also a great machine for the experienced Detectorists.
Review by Paul on December 17, 2019Simply great machine and not having earphone wire in the way is wonderful!! Wish I had this when I started detecting in 1970, I would have a lot more to retire on than I do now. Thank you Nokta Makro and Kellyco !
Review by FlippyD on December 17, 2019It’s Awesome!
Review by George on December 17, 2019Very impressed with this prouduct. Easy to use. Many great features of more expensive detectors. Everything works great. I have found many coins and other items. Would recommend this detecter to anyone.
Review by Simplex user in South Texas on December 16, 2019I am really enjoying the Simplex! I like how it pinpoints the targets. I also love the fact that you can use the vibration feature! I also like that it has a volume control! Way to go Nokta Makro!
Review by Dirt hole on December 15, 2019I just got mine the other day opened up the box and said let's try it out. I live in upstate NY with 2 inches of snow and - 28 outside. I went to my back yard, put it in field mode and walked around and ping it went. I was like Ok let's see. Started digging 4 to 5 inches and removed a 1809 penny. Now I have went over my yard with my AT Pro at least 5 times and found pennies, but not this old. Maybe it was just luck or its one hell of a metal detector. So easy to use- fast. On track. Review by AquaLand Relics on December 15, 2019In my opinion, I have been detecting for over 6 years and this little machine it redefining the market. For the price there is no other machine on the market that can compare. With all the extra add-ons. This machine is a 1000$ detector trapped in a 350$ detectors frame. From all metal, field, park, and beach it's gonna surprise ya. Myself I have been hunting a lot of local parks and going back over places I have detected in the past. I am finding wheat cents at 6-8+ inches. Haven't got to the beach or in the water. But from what i see there will be no let down. Love how it collapses down to like 2 ft. Great for storage. And when we are in the local streams I think this will be an added bonus. The back light just rocks. I own the AT Pro and many of late evenings I wish it had one also. The only thing I don't like is field mode only has two tones. They say they made it with two tones to get maximum depth. Can't wait to try it out on some deep civil war bullets. And the USB downloaded firmware is totally awesome. For sure would recommend this machine. AquaLand Relics
Review by Slick. Since -1963 on December 14, 2019Couldn’t wait for it to get here, that makes 3 Nokta-Makro machines I have. The Simplex is going to be another leader. Thank you Kellyco again for your never ending service!⛄️
Review by Simplex on December 13, 2019Simplex ➕, whether it’s a hunt underwater, on an old house site in the middle of a field, your local park or on your favorite vacation beach it will find what you’re looking for! This is one of the most versatile detectors on the market and it’s very easy on the pocket book!
Review by Digger on December 13, 2019This detector and headphones are super easy to use right out of the box. It has great penetration for the price range. My son is 12 years old. He and I hunt together now that he has this detector he has found things while walking behind me. I use a Spectra V3I. Needless to say I'm quite impressed by this machine. I would recommend this detector and headphones to anyone regardless of experienced.
Review by DOUG on November 16, 2019The Simplex was a gift for my son. We both went out detecting this morning in the cold for about 3 hours. My son found a bunch of coins and a silver ring on his first time out with his simplex in a park that has been hunted quite a bit. He's definitely happy with his new detector and I'm impressed with it as well. It seems to be very used friendly. We are really happy with this purchase, and even though we had to pre-order the detector, Kellyco kept us informed with what was going on in the ordering process. I will definitely do business with them again.
Review by Carolyn on November 13, 2019I recently tested the Simplex in an area where I have been detecting for the past three years. Without adjusting any of the settings, I took it out of the box, turned it on, plugged in the headphones and started detecting.
The Simplex has an 11” coil, and I wasn’t expecting it to pick up much at this particular park because there is a lot of junk. I was very surprised at how clearly I could hear signals between trash. Within just a few hours, I found a wheat penny, a railroad spike and a brass buckle from the early 20th century. The buckle was buried 8 inches down.
I have tendonitis in my elbow and swinging a detector for hours usually hurts, but after detecting for 3.5 hours, I had no issues whatsoever. This no-frills detector is an overachiever.

Q: Will the simplex find 10,14,18K gold jewelry at the beach? It's not highlighted as a gold machine but it is as a beach machine. Does that mean its only good for finding coins and not jewelry at the beach?A: It will find gold jewelry. Gold jewelry is not raw, natural gold.

How much will it cost in euros to send it to us along with transportation; we do not pay taxes of the customs dear How deep detection does it really have ?? / I am waiting for your answerA: I am sorry, but due to manufacturer restrictions, we cannot ship outside of the US.

Q: If I need the battery replaced what does it cost and how long is it out of service? How long does it last?I've been in the electronics field 45 years why can't I replace it myself? Why didn't they put a on/off switch to disconnect the original battery and use a external battery pack. Might be a great detector but this fact is the biggest con for not buying.Exactly where is the battery located?A: You would need to contact Nokta Makro for any questions regarding service and turn around time. It is a sealed waterproof unit so it is serviced by them to retain that feature. Battery life is dictated by usage and care, I cannot estimate the battery life. The battery is located in the control box.

Q: Do you give a veterans discount? I didn't see anything about it . I am a U.S. Army veteran. Do I qualify even though I just ordered my detector yesterday ? Thank you.A: We do offer a military discount, but it only applies to Minelab metal detectors.

Posted On: 4/8/2021 By: Al Jepsen
Q: Has the Simpkex fixed the problem with chatter when using a Garrett pin pointer ?A: A frequency shift on the Simplex+ should take care of any interference.

Q: Bought a Simplex+ with wireless headphones in January. Everything has been perfect up until last week. I pushed phones off my ears during a dig and now they won't pair up with my machine. I fully charged and have tried repairing according to instructions but no luckA: Try doing a factory reset then pair again.* Turn the detector on by pressing the power button. * Once the SIMPLEX+ logo appears on the screen, press and hold down the Settings and Pinpoint/Confirm button simultaneously until 3 short beeps are heard. For a hard reset in case of any unresponsiveness of the system, press and hold down for about 6 seconds.

Q: How do these do on salt water beaches?A: It will work very well in dry sand, near or in salt water will require ground balancing to near zero and will work fine.
Posted On: 2/19/2021 By: Richard Coughlin
Q: Will the Simplex locate gold in freshwater rivers?A: Locating gold flakes would require a higher frequency than the Simplex provides, you would want a machine that is over 18 kHz. The best machine I could recommend would be the Gold Monster 1000 with 5" coil without going way over your price.

Q: What detector should I buy with easy ground balance that will not go off constantly in iron ore. I want to gold hunt. I need something that will find nuggets as well as small pieces. My great grandfather was a blacksmith and melted down and refined gold for an Indian. No one could ever find his working area. They tried following him but he always gave them the slip. The area has lots of iron ore. What detector do you suggest? I’m not by far a professional. I do live one block from the ocean. The other hunting is in the Appalachian mountains where I grew up.A: I would recommend the Equinox 800. It is very versatile and has a Gold Mode which would be beneficial to your gold hunting needs.

Q: really like tik toks about this sport want to get started will this machine find gold jewelry (like a ring)didn’t quite understand when gold nugget ? was askedA: This detector will find gold jewelry. I'm sure you were asked about nugget hunting, because that type of gold requires a higher frequency.

Q: Does the Pulse dive pinpointer that comes with the bundle have both attachments? (The little coil as well as the standard pinpointer head)?A: No, the promo is the pulsedive pinpointer, not the 2 in 1 scuba unit.

Q: Can you use the wireless headphones in water are they water proof?A: No, they are not waterproof. At this time, there are no wireless headphones that are.
Posted On: 11/14/2020 By: Marc Slack
Q: Can I use wireless earbuds and wired headphones?A: You can use wired headphones. You cannot use wireless earbuds. The only wireless headphones that will work are the Nokta Makro Green Edition headphones.

Q: I did not receive (Oct 17) an ac adapter with my unit for usb charging from a 110 outlet. I assumed it would come with one.A: This is not included with the detector.
Posted On: 9/13/2020 By: Ed Matthews
Q: The new coils...SP22 and SP24 (8.5"), according to video reviews are better than the 11" coil. Why can't the Simplex come standard with one or the other? What are major differences between the new coils and the 11" ?A:
Most detectors have a standard size coil that comes with them, mostly an 11" coil. This is an all around coil. The other new coils are great coils and are used for tight areas and are a little smaller. They are also all around coils but used in different environments. The stock coil will cover more ground with each sweep. Every coil will preform a little different and Nokta has determined that the 11" is best served as the standard coil.

Q: I am looking at the Simplex+ to replace a garrett that tanked when I accidently dropped it in the water. Does the pin pointer link up with the wireless or wired headphones? This machines sounds too good to be true. Could you recommend any similar machines to look at?A:
The Nokta Makro Simplex+ really is too good to be true for the price. It has a lot of features that detectors price the price have. You can link the Nokta Makro Green Edition Headphones to the Nokta Makro PulseDive Pointer. However the Simplex will not pair at the same time as the pointer. Great detector for price!

Q: if the unit is submersible the Simplex is completely waterproof up to 3 meters (10 ft).then what is this statement from your description? , the detector coil can be submerged up to 11 inches. 10 feet or 11 inches?A:
The coil on the Simplex is completely submersible up to 10 feet. The 11" that is mentioned is the size of the coil cover.
Posted On: 9/1/2020 By: Bob Matteo
Q: Can the Simplex be completely submerged under water? Also what Head Phones would one use?A:
Yes, the Simplex is completely waterproof up to 3 meters (10 ft). You can add the Nokta Makro Waterproof Headphones.
Posted On: 8/11/2020 By: Torry Schreider
Q: It says will detect small gold jewelry. Does it detect gold nuggets or?A:
The Simplex+ will find a larger nugget but not really small nuggets. The Simplex+ runs at 12KHZ, you need a higher frequency to find small gold nuggets at least 20khz is recommended.

Q: My simplex nokta makro just one day would not turn on I've only had for about 3 months i bought it in April how do i get it fixedA:
I would give Van a call at the Nokta repair center to let him know. He is located in Georgia and should be able to help. His number is 706-619-2601
Posted On: 7/19/2020 By: Luis Talavera
Q: What number should i use the threashhold number in all metal modeA:
The threshold is the volume of the buzz that you are hearing in the headphones. The number you set it on is up to you and how loud you want it to be. There is not a set number that I can give you.
Posted On: 7/17/2020 By: Maurice Hollingsworth
Q: After 5 years and your batterys need replace what do you do .A:
