More Information

Garrett ATX Pro DeepSeeker Package Metal Detector

The Garrett ATX Extreme PI Metal Detector was designed to be the ultimate jack-of-all-trades detector. It was built to find a variety of targets in some of the harshest terrains including highly mineralized grounds and saltwater. This makes the ATX adept at relic hunting and gold prospecting as well as searching for coins and jewelry. To accommodate the differences found in a variety of terrains, the ATX can be used with its stem fully extended or collapsed. The DD Search Coil can even be locked into a 90-degree orientation for detecting up walls or embankments.

Garrett ATX Collapsed

The ATX provides versatility by including maximum detection on all targets at the same time and uniform sensitivity with the DD search coil. No longer will the user have to switch between modes to enhance the detection of a target while degrading the other. In fact, the Pulse Induction Technology on the ATX enhances the device’s ability to detect smaller objects such as nuggets, coins and relics. The advanced ground balance and iron check allows the metal detector to eliminate trash and interference to find these smaller objects.

Questions and Answers

Q: I’m looking at the Garrett ATX and the minelab CTX3030. I am civil war relic hunting in woods , fields, streams and I’m not sure which one will give me the most depth and accuracy in any or all of those places. I have a vanquish that gets me down a good foot when it’s just a grassy area. I need to know my machine can go much deeper. I know I’m missing some things because they are much deeper. I feel I’m just scratching the surface .

A: There are a lot of factors that play a part in depth. Most hobby detectors are VLF (very low frequency), like your Vanquish, and the depth depends on the soil conditions and the target size. When it comes to hobby detectors, we like to safely say the size of the coil is about how deep it will go. For example an 11 inch coil will typically pick up targets at 11 inches. The PI (pulse induction), like the ATX are a different type of detector and will give you the most depth. Again coil size, target size and soil conditions play a part but typically can go about 16 inches on a coin size target. To get those real deep civil war targets, most use a PI machine.

Q: The size of my target is 1mx1mx1m ( 1 cubic meter ) and is 7 meters deep. Can Garrett ATX Pro Deep Seeker detect it? It is a Japanese treasure buried in our place in the Philippines. It's inside a concrete box. Folks suspect that bars of gold are inside.

In order to find a target that deep, you would need a professional machine. PI detectors, like the ATX go deep but cannot go 7 meters. I would recommend looking at our OKM products. These we go the depth you are looking for.

Q: Where can I find my serial number?

A: To find the serial number on a Garrett ATX Pro detector, flip the release lever for the sliding armband and move the armband all the way forward. Look in the area where the armband was previously. The serial number will be on a label stuck to the side of one of the battery housings.
