Success on the Kalahari
I bought my first detector, a GPX 5000 in September 2012 and haven't had the chance to use it as I am always busy with my full time job.[split]
In December, I got it out from the cupboard and took it along to our rural area in the Kalahari desert over the weekend to give it a try. I went out to the ground on Friday afternoon and didn't have much luck for the day.
On Saturday, I woke up early in the morning and after an hour of detecting I heard a signal and dug it up a few centimetres deep in the ground. There it was, my very first ever golden piece!
I picked a total of 8 nuggets weighing in at 11 grams total in a period of 6 hours.
I plan to detect full time as i really trust that Minelab GPX 5000 can deliver good results this machine is great and easy to use.
