Dual Field Recovers a Monster Ring!

By: Anonymous

On Friday august 31st I set out in search of a lost diamond ring that I had contacted a lady about in a local ad. She advised me that it had been missing since the 12th of August on a beach in Northern California in heavy mineralized sand.

[split]

This was my second time out looking for this needle in a haystack, but this time the owner had drew a map of where she thought she had lost it and off I went! The Dual Fields performance was as deep as it's always been and I am a firm believer that without this 12" coil I would have been out there longer because she told me another detectorist was helping her look for it the day she lost it but stopped short and advised her that he could not go into the water with his detector!

Forty-five minutes into the hunt I gridded two area's I thought they might have been set up on the third grid area which was in a pool of water that was an ocean run off outlet this is where I heard the famous ZIP-ZIP that the Dual Field gives off when you swing it over any type of ring at the correct speed. As I scooped it up and kicked the sand forward I could see what I thought was a beaver tale style pull tab, boy I am sure glad it was not!

The rest is history and I have made some new friends and I can say that the Dual Field paid for itself with this one swing. This is my story and possibly but hopefully not my best find ever here are some pics of the ring, map, and a very happy family!
