Kellyco Silver Spanish Piece of 8 Sailfish Pendant
Silver Spanish Piece of 8 Comes with Certificate of Authenticity Signed by the Person who Salvaged this Pendant
The story behind these is well-known and documented. The El Salvador y San Jose, a Spanish merchant ship in route from Lima, Peru to Guayaquil, Ecuador, struck a rocky bank in August 1680 and sank adjacent to the island of Santa Clara. Located 20 miles from the coast of Ecuador the ship sank very quickly, scattering cargo across the reefs that included these silver coins.
In 1997 salvage divers located the scatter pattern of the ship’s wreck site and recovered a number of the silver coins from pot holes and fissures in the reefs. This story is retold on the certificate of authenticity with the date the coin was made, the denomination, and the mint it was made at.
Each coin comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the salvager, and Kellyco proudly offers a 10 day, money back guarantee for each coin pendant. Four different crown styles are available: Pirate, Sailfish, and two Dolphins either jumping right or left.
