Fisher CZ-21 Metal Detector with 10.5" Search Coil
- Product Review (submitted on March 17, 2008):
Have metal detected in many areas over the last two plus years. As a new person to this SPORT I have enjoyed the outdoor adventure that metal detecting has allotted to me. The physical activity has improved my well being and I am able to walk longer distances now that I am part of the metal detecting family. Many finds over the past year but to this date nothing earth shattering.
The Fisher CZ-21 unit I have seems right for the job but maybe I am not taking full advantage of this unit. You do not list my unit above - maybe it is too old. I currently have a Fisher CZ-7a and it works pretty good. I have found enough coins to pay for my unit many times over along with a few pieces of gold, but nothing big. Sometimes it is fun to find the unexpected, such as old metal toys, old square nails and once at a depth of 16 to 18 inches a large lead sinker right on the edge of the beach.
I like to detect the local and state beach in the winter when the tide has gone down or after a storm. Usually there are a lot of loose items and you do not have to put up with everyone asking "What did you find" ,"Can I see what you found", etc. After looking at White's new line of detectors, I am trying to make up my mind as to which unit I would like to purchase as my Fisher is getting to show its age.
