Minelab Excalibur II Metal Detector with 10" Search Coil

Product Review (submitted on March 18, 2008):
I started hunting the treasure coast beaches of Florida after 2 major hurricanes in 2004. It didn’t take me long to figure out that the Minelab Excalibur II was the machine of choice. It is almost always used by the serious beach treasure hunters. I bought an Excalibur 1000 from Kellyco in early 2005 because of its ability to cancel out the effects of the heavily mineralized black sand, which can drive other machines crazy. Also, it has the reputation for finding gold and silver jewelry. A couple of trial runs under my belt I soon found out just what an awesome machine I had bought.

I found three 1715 fleet silver reels on only my 3rd trip to the treasure coast using my new machine. Little did I know that was just the start of things to come, as that summer I found a fabulous 1715 fleet gold treasure ring. The ring had nine flawless Colombian emeralds set in 22 1/2 carat Inca gold and over fifty pieces of 1715 fleet silver. The next year I started shallow water hunting for modern jewelry in South Florida, in the water as well as the land. The Excalibur delivers! Having the iron mask gives the advantage of not having to dig iron. That makes detecting in trashy areas such as Miami Beach a breeze.

The more time digging non ferrous targets, means more good jewelry finds. When the Excalibur tones two different targets, you soon begin to guess what the target is before you dig it up. The Excalibur has easy to use twist knob controls, and the manual is very informative and easy to read. The Excalibur is basically a turn on and go machine. I recently decided to buy a back up water hunting machine, with a smaller coil, to get in between the rocks. After a lot of research, I decided that the only detector for the job was an Excalibur II 800. After finding hundreds of gold/ silver rings and chains; I would have to be crazy to use anything else but a Minelab Excalibur. I highly recommend the Minelab Excalibur for its quality, ease of operation, and a
