White's Matrix M6 Metal Detector
- Product Review (submitted on November 9, 2016):
- Let me say first that I have avoided owning a White's detector since I began detecting about 4 years ago because I was told they are "too noisy", "too heavy", and that they are over-priced for what you get, and being a woman in a hobby that for some is just for the guys does not help either! Well I have owned 2 other top brands formerly before owning my White's M6 and the only complaints I have are about the other two brands! Thanks to online auction, I was able to sell the other two detectors to buy my White's M6 from a "certain" very reputable company" (Hm, who could that be!) and it is the best purchase I have ever made! It is well balanced, not heavy at all. You can also look at this machine in awe because it's sturdy metal construction beats the other two plastic models I owned! The choice of multi-tone or single tone is a great idea, the target ID is right on and the control switches are so easy to understand. No programs or settings on keypads here! The first time I took it out was at the beach, the last detector I owned went crazy even though it had "manual ground balance" ( I never knew if I had it set right or not!... talk about a lack of confidence in your machine!) So when I turned on my M6 and started swinging it and it was quiet I had to throw a penny in the sand to make sure it was working! Well it certainly was, as a matter of fact the "BEACH MODE" is an awesome feature, you already have an edge in the salt sand because the setting is specialized for BEACH hunting! The spot I go is a rocky to sandy beach with some black sand here and there, it is a difficult beach to detect but it is near one of the first settlements in New England and was a former military bunker in the 1800's, my other detectors only worked in certain areas so I knew I was missing out! Well let me tell you I was very impressed with my M6, it did chatter a bit at first but all it took was a little turn of the sensitivity and the chatter stopped.
