Bounty Hunter Lone Star Metal Detector

Bounty Hunter Lone Star Metal Detector

Product Review (submitted on March 17, 2008):
The Bounty Hunter Lone Star is the first detector I have ever owned or used. I have enjoyed going out with the Bounty Hunter but for something so simple, it seems so complicated. I have had trouble with finding the targets once I start digging. The machine seems to find a lot of targets but I can't seem to locate it. Inexperience probably, but I would like to get a new machine with a target pinpointer so I know when I am over the target. The Bounty Hunter is a great machine and it finds deep targets. It has found things that were 8 to 10 inches down. While I haven't found anything of historical or major value yet, I have found lots of things (aside from the usual trash targets) like coins, jewelry and even a piece of a meteor.

I have also taken my 8 year old daughter out detecting with me and she loves it. She got her own detector for Christmas and can't wait to get out and use it. Since the weather is warming up a bit here in PA, we will be heading out over the weekend to detect and get more practice on our machines. I don't have a particular thing I like to detect for, I just like finding whatever the machine finds, knowing it is something that has been in the ground for years and the thrill of the possibility of finding something of historical value puts added excitement on detecting. Getting out with my daughter and spending the quality time with her, and getting her involved with the history and research and other areas of detecting is a great feeling that one day I hope she carries on with her own children.
