Garrett GTI 2500 Pro Metal Detector

Garrett GTI 2500 Pro Metal Detector

Product Review (submitted on April 25, 2008):
I have been detecting for 40 plus years and have owned eleven different makes and models of metal detectors. I love to find personal items such as class and diamond rings for people, especially ones that have been lost many years and have been hunted by other detectorists with no luck and have given up. The owners ask me about my opinion and I tell them I will use a smaller coil, and then just see their joy when it is returned. When you buy a detector, buy the best you can afford with at least 3 different size coils. When you are driving around look for spots that contain old purple or pinkish glass with cork tops, that is where the older items are found. My wife bought me the detector that I use a few years ago - it has factory preset, discriminates coins, jewelry, relics, zero and custom.

If you prefer, just turn on the machine, select coins discriminate and you are ready to hunt or scroll and it tells you as you scroll through the adjustments. It has treasure talk, and also has ID disc. If it shows 25 cents, it is a quarter, and other coins it has size depth and pinpoint. Just insert a screwdriver in the spot when you touch the coin. You can remove with no sign you have ever been in the area. I prefer a 9.5" coil for general hunting, a 12.5" coil for deeper items like coins and relics, and a 4.5" coil in very trashy areas. You will also find more coins, rings and jewelry. Just remember to always get permission and property and owner with respect. This detector deserves a 5 star rating.
