Garrett GTI 2500 Pro Metal Detector

Garrett GTI 2500 Pro Metal Detector

Product Review (submitted on March 20, 2008):
The Garrett GTI 2500 works like a dream, with its target ID and depth indicators on the screen, it practically does all the work for you. If it had an automatic digger, you would be set...
It’s kind of pricey, but if you work on the retailer enough, most of the time you can get the pro-pak and detector. That includes the larger coil, bag, and some other little goodies. The only drawback that I see with the GTI 2500 is the fact that it is too convenient; you are tricked into using one of the preset discriminate settings. By using the "Coin" mode or "Jewelry" mode, you miss most iron objects, and some bullets. Even the "Relic" mode, you will miss a lot of stuff that an old TR detector or Using "All Metal" mode would find. The "All metal" mode is great, but you find everything. This isn’t a detector for the newbie, or inexperienced hunter. It takes a while to get used to the ability of this powerhouse, and will make plenty of mistakes and miss a lot of stuff if you don't know what you’re doing. All in all, a five to eight year experienced hunters dream. Upgrade from your Ace 250 or GTI 1250 and you will be surprised at the powerful ability of this detector.
