Minelab E-TRAC Metal Detector

Minelab E-TRAC Metal Detector

Product Review (submitted on April 10, 2010):
I live in Ohio and I mostly hunt for old coins. I purchased the Minelab E-Trac in the spring of 2009 and I started by going back over the good spots I had searched to death with my old ($900.00) detector. I started by just turning it on and using the Coins setting. The first thing I noticed was that the E-Trac was much more stable and quieter than my old detector. I started by digging everything and in no time at all I was finding wheat cents I had missed and soon silver coins too. I was very impressed that I was finding older coins deeper than I could with my old detector with no real experience with the E-Trac yet. In 2009, I found 247 silver coins and well over 1000 wheat cents, most were found in local "hunted out" parks. I find that I go to some places now and don't find clad or many surface targets but I do find DEEP coins everyone else missed. I also love how you can change the sounds on E-Trac so that silver targets really sing for you. The only bad thing I have found about E-Trac is that you will be digging much deeper holes.
