Nokta Makro Simplex+ Metal Detector
- Product Review (submitted on February 12, 2020):
I have to admit this machine is "Simply Unrivaled" in its class especially for the pricepoint that it sits at. The quality and craftsmanship of the control box is superior, the rubberized thick handle is definitively rugged. My first day out in the park took awhile to get use to the settings, especially learning to adapt to a different VDI scale since I have been using whites electronics detectors exclusively for over 20 years. Why change? simply because of this machines price point and versatility namely (wireless headphone capability, waterproof, collapsible Shaft system).Oh and there is nothing wrong with trying something new either. On my first day out at the park I found some clad coins, i never have to this park so i was getting use to that as well. I used the park mode program and I left all the settings default. I did run into some EMI from my Whites TRX poinpointer, everytime I turned it on i would get a slight "pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop" sound. I tried to adjust using the F1,F2,F3 frequency scans setting but that didn't help, I then reduced the sensitivity and that reduced the pop level but not entirely. I did have some powerlines nearby which may have contributed to the poppping, but what was throwing me off was when i turned on the TRX thats when the popping would start, once off popping was gone. So, if the popping stopped when the TRX turned on then logically i would tend to think it was the pinpointer and the SImplex just not cooperating to get along.
Day 2 at a different park went incredibly well and I was stoked at the machines ability to separate targets even if there were different clad coins buried together (see my youtube video and watch to see what I mean). I found a couple of coin spills and quite frankly I'm afraid to say that this SImplex+ would run circles around my Whites TreasurePro and for a lot less money. I will say that when I was at the park on my day 2 hunt and there were no power lines and my TRX pinpointer and SImplex+ got along with "NO" popping sounds. So it had to have been the power lines doing some funky stuff. Watch my video on youtube of the Day 2 coin spill and successful digs with a surprise find!! just copy and paste the link below.
