Minelab Safari Metal Detector

Minelab Safari Metal Detector

Product Review (submitted on October 13, 2009):
After getting frustrated with my previous detector, I also spent ages and ages researching my next one. To be honest, if I had more of a budget, I would have most likely gone for the E-Trac but I simply couldn't justify the expense. I liked the idea of a Minelab as others were having good success so I decided on the Safari. It was the best decision I ever made. It doesn't chatter like my old detector, nor do I dig up iron. It sounds so stable and gives crisp sounds and it is mega easy to use compared to previous machines. Someone starting for the first time could use this effectively within 5 minutes out of the box. Minelab has done a great job making massive improvements over the Quattro making it deeper and with faster recovery. In fact, the recovery is faster than the Explorer and even the F75!

The only downside is the weight. After a few hours, my shoulder does ache as she is pretty heavy. However, I wouldn't go for any other machine. What I have personally dug up out of the ground shows that the Safari is extremely sensitive and very deep. I use it on ploughed fields, pasture, woods and the beach. Sorry if I sound like I'm hyping this detector up, but I guess I am. I am not a dealer and have no affiliation with Minelab - I just love my Safari and wanted to share this with you.
