Minelab Pro-Find 35 Pinpointer
Locate Coins, Rings, Treasure and Gold with Speed and Accuracy
The PRO-FIND 35 from Minelab has a host of features, such as adjustable sensitivity, two mode operation, water resistant construction and Detector Interference Free (DIF) technology that significantly reduces interference with an operating metal detector, when the pinpointer is switched off, by disengaging the pinpointer coil’s magnetic field. Another great feature that some detectorists may find very useful is a lost-alarm that will sound after a period of inactive use. This makes it easy to locate your forgotten pinpointer so you never leave it behind! The PRO-FIND Series pinpointers help you to accurately locate targets inside a small hole or crevice where a metal detector coil cannot fit. This results in smaller holes, less environmental disruption and faster target recovery time.
Features:
- DIF Technology : Significantly Reduces Interference with an Operating Metal Detector
- Waterproof to 10-ft (3m) : Rugged Waterproof Design Ideal for Beach and River Pinpointing

- Ferrous Tone ID : Two Different Responses Help you to Identify Ferrous Junk from Nonferrous Treasure
- Lost-Alarm : Alarm that will Sound After a Period of Inactive Use. This Makes it Easy to Locate your Forgotten Pinpointer
- Audio & Vibration Indication : Audio Tones and Vibration Intensify as the Probe Approaches the Target, Even Underwater

I bought this handheld detector along with a Minelab 800 during an in-house visit to Kellyco in Casselberry, Florida. Katie, the sales rep, was exceptionally helpful. The device is rugged and waterproof. And let me tell ya, it can find stuff! You'll have to do some extra studying when using it in saltwater as it will give off false readings. There is a way to set it so it won't. Just study some of the Youtubes out there and you'll see what I mean. Buy high quality 9-Volt batteries, cheaper versions don't seem to seat right sometimes. The terminals can become a little lose (I think) which causes it to shut off prematurely, or maybe the battery was just getting low. In any case, I have better luck with high quality batteries. I'm paying about two bucks a piece for mine from a car battery store in Palatka. The device vibrates and has an audible tone which directs you toward the target. I've found it helpful to bring along a plastic sifter used for gold nuggets. I use one with a 3/8 mesh which works out about right. It will catch a coin. It's more efficient to throw a handful of dirt into the sifter than to probe a handful of dirt for a small object. If you buy a sifter make sure its plastic. My most interesting find is a large piece of a General Robert E. Lee Cast Iron Plaque, made around 1890-1900. My oldest coin is an 1893 Indian Head penny. I'm primarily digging old homesites in northeast Florida. -

This has been the missing link in our kit for some time. Truly indispensable. This is the real deal, people. No Mickey Mouse mug detecting here. Keep up the great work. -

Been playing with this pin pointer for a year now, it has not let me down and the fact that its water proof and durable it a positive plus in my book. The feature of the iron discrimination vibration is a great help in targeting your item in question. -

I bought this pinpointer to go with the equinox 800. At first glance it looked really well made however within a month a 2 inch crack formed on the trunk and I suspect water is getting in as it's behaving erratic and will have to be returned. I will have to buy a Garrett as a back up as I can't have unreliable equipment. It's a shame as all it took was stronger plastics and there never would have been a issue. Same issue with the nox. -

The precision, features and ease of use of this pinpointer are impressive. I am new to the hobby and have a great deal to learn about my detector, but the Pro-Find 35 really makes it satisfying. An excellent accessory like this makes all the difference.
On my last trip, the airport TSA agent was having trouble using her pinpointer on me. When out of earshot, I told my wife that my Pro-Find 35 performs better than that agent's. -

Used the Garrett AT pro pointer for years and it was starting to get a little wonky so I decided to try the Minelab pro find 35. I'd say it works just as good. I really like the iron discrimination feature as well and it seems to be pretty accurate. Overall I would recommend. Thanks Kellyco! -

I am vary happy with my new Minelab 35 pinpointer. Unlike my last pinpointer this one continue to work even after spending several hours under water. And the bright Yellow make it easy to find when dropped both on land and in the water. Very good investment.

The Minelab 35 Pinpointer actually beeps on small gold. Very rugged and dives/works with me all week like a real tool. Works very fast and is very powerful, and dependable. Works even better dry, I rarely bring a full sized detector underwater any more... Thanks Minlab! -

This pinpointer works very well in locating small objects in sand or in holes. The audio and vibrate functions work well together. My first one ended up not being watertight. (Advertised waterproof to 10 feet). While walking in waist deep water it flooded. But kudos to Minelab, I returned it and they promptly sent me a replacement. This is a great aid to my Minelab metal detector. -

I purchased this in October 2018 and used it on a few land and beach hunts, and it worked well. However today, after being in waist deep water a few hours, water leaked into the unit and ruined it. Don't know if it was due to a defective o ring seal or how else the water got in. In any case, this pinpointer, supposedly waterproof to 10 feet was not, and after being in water got flooded and is now trash. I contacted Minelab customer support to see if they will honor their 2 year warranty on this. I'll update their response to this review. -

I highly recommend this pin-pointer. Complements the detector well by helping you locate your target in your pile of diggings or hole without having to run the detector back over the target. It has some very nice features like Ferrous Tone ID. The pin-pointer will give you a little different sound if it identifies a ferrous object. It also has adjustable sensitivity, is water proof to 10 feet, has a built in light, and It does not like to be left alone!. What I mean by this is if it is left alone for more than a few minutes it will start beeping thinking that you left it behind. Another great product from Minelab.

Q: I got a minelab equinox 600 with minelab handheld. The handheld sometimes works and some times doesn't. I do not have the volume + or - on it only on off same button. I figured out 2 tabs means on and 3 tabs mean off. But some times when I test it it does not viabraite or make a noise when on a metal piece. It takes several time and some time not at all to work. I am very dissatisfied with it. Can I return this one for a new one with volume control? Just got for Christmas, so it is new. SUE MACNEAL
A: Hello Sue, I'm sorry but I could not find the order in our system. It would be best to call in to discuss any type of return or exchange. -

Q: Is the pro find 35 good for detecting gold inside quartz rocks Thanks Pete
A:Because the gold would be so small, this pinpointer may not pick it up. If it is a large piece, then it would be able to pick it up.
