Part Sand Scoops
What are the best scoops for metal detecting on the beach?
The scoop you use is dependent on your needs. If you're doing treasure hunts along beaches, you’ll need a corrosion-resistant model with a short or medium handle for ease of manipulation. You’ll need a scoop with a screen that will easily filter out sand, while keeping the goodies you uncover.
What are the best scoops for hunting in the water?
For hunting in the water, you’ll need a long-handle scoop that is made from a lightweight material like aluminum. You may chose a stainless steel scoop for digging in creek beds or riverbeds. The stainless steel scoop will survive riverbeds covered with gravel, or beaches covered in coral easily.
Can I use these scoops to search for buried items or artifacts?
Yes, a heavy-duty scoop can dig into many different surfaces.
Do I need an angled handle?
Yes, if you plan to do some digging in areas that aren’t sand. The angled handle provides better leverage and makes scooping easier. You may even find the angled handle useful on the beach. If ease of manipulation is a concern, you should consider scoops with a kick-plate on the end so you can simply push the scoop into the sand or dirt with your foot.
How durable are these scoops?
The scoops and digging tools sold by Kellyco are extremely durable and backed by a 90-day manufacturer’s warranty.
How much do I need to spend on a scoop?
