Kellyco 1733 Spanish 8 Reale Silver Treasure Coin Replica
Museum Quality Replica of Original Coin Salvaged from a Post 1733 Treasure Galleon Sunk Somewhere Off Florida Coast
Authentic replica coin salvaged from a post 1733 Treasure Galleon believed to have sunk somewhere off the coast of Florida. Certainly one of the best examples of what is commonly printed in books and shown in movies as a "Piece of Eight". Also known as a "cob", this unique coin has beautiful clean and clear strikes with full details on both sides of the coin including the royal shield with crown, mint mark, assayers mark and even the counter strike near the center of the cross which adds some mystery to this coin.
Rim letters and 1733 date are clear and easy to read. Coin was cut or "shaved" as was the custom if you did not have a smaller coin to pay for food and drink when in port you cut a "piece" off a larger coin. Hole was added by the owner to wear on a cord or chain with other coins to prevent loss or theft. Comes with its own Historical Certificate ready for framing.
