Kellyco 1732 Large Pillar Coin Replica
Museum Quality Replica of Coin that was the Forerunner of the American Dollar
Authentic reproduction of a coin that was the forerunner of the American Dollar. Made from silver and almost a perfect round shape, these coins were "Sea Salvaged" from an ocean wreck off the Florida Keys, thought to be part of a fleet that went down in 1733. Although thin from its time in the ocean, the coin has many clear parts of the "strike" including a clear date of 1732 on one side, assayers mark and a sharp number 8 showing the value equal to an 8 Reale silver coin on the other side. These coins could be cut in half forming two half dollars or cut in 4 parts to form "quarter dollars" to pay for goods and services. Comes with its own Historical Certificate ready for framing.
