The
Surfmaster PI Pro is a pulse inductive machine. It does
great in fresh water and that is exactly where I take it.
I also found that it picks up dimes very well so I would label
it as a dime-hot machine. When you first take the machine
out of the box and assemble it, you will want to set it to
the preset programs. There are only two dials on this
detector, the the gain and tuner. It is a very
easy to use machine with simplistic controls. If
I had to choose between beginner, intermediate and advanced,
I would have to say this is an intermediate machine that can
be used by beginners because of its presets and effortless
tuning.
The
PI Pro is definitely made for treasure hunting in the water.
This detector is great for snorkling, diving, wading
and can handle any kind of water environment down to 100 feet.
I found my first necklace with this detector while hunting
in sulfer water. It wasn't a completely gold necklace,
just the clasp of the necklace was 14 karat gold. It
actually looked like a snake because it was black everywhere
but the clasp which how I could tell what was gold and was
not.
