My Maiden Voyage with the M6

Let me start by saying the Matrix M6 is a great machine... I took it out today for its maiden voyage and it performed flawlessly. I found some great things my first silver a 1923 Mercury dime and my oldest coin an 1895 Indian head penny. My favorite finds of the day were my first round ball and an iron carving which I found at 10". It appears to have a face on each side of it and a hole in the feather for a necklace.

Thank You for a Top Notch Detector

Just yesterday I decided to stop on the way home from work to hunt an empty lot that I had obtained permission to hunt. I get off work at five so I would only have about 45 minutes or so before it would get too dark to see. This lot is beside a very busy single lane highway, especially during the morning and evening rush hours. I had just got to the lot, got my gear ready, and started off into the woods when I noticed the traffic behind me had stopped.

MXT Finds 3 Golden Coins in a Tot Lot

Just a quick story about your MXT, I cannot begin to thank you for the ease of operation that you put into your MXT detector. I went out to some tot lots this morning for about 90 minutes or so. I used the factory settings and once again the MXT did not disappoint.

Perfect End of a Season with My V3i

I have been an enthusiast metal detectorist for some years now and I want to share with you my finds from the last detecting trip of 2012. I was talking to a local farmer from my Central PA area and this old timer was very proud of his hundreds of acres of land that he has been farming since around 1950.

40 Years of Detecting = Nice Copper Finds

My name is Bill and I live in Michigan. I am now in my early seventies, but my yearning for the discovery of copper artifacts began about 35 years ago. But first let me tell you my introduction to the world of metal detecting.

I started metal detecting some 40 plus years ago. My first detector was a White’s. I've tried a couple other brands but have always had a White’s and now use the brand exclusively. I now use the V3i and the Surf PI Pro for water detecting.

43 Years Later I Returned to the Hobby

In 1970 I purchased for my then 7 year old son a White’s Coinmaster. We lived in California at the time, and we found so many interesting items, such as coins, rings, bracelets, medals, and so many other items. If you will recall, the Coinmaster, at that time, had a big blue electronic component box. I do not remember what happened to it, but it got lost somewhere during our moves and/or his growing up. He used it for only a couple of years and like many boys, got interested in sports and other hobbies.

1,2,3...Bam a Hit

Today I was detecting behind a friends barn and 1, 2,3… Bam a slamming hit, so I said “let it be something nice.” What do I know, I pulled out my Bullseye Pinpointer and there is a shine and glimpse of gold. I saw the band of the ring and said “Let it be good!”

MXT is a Civil War Magnet

The ring with the fox/dog head is my favorite. It's made from lead/pewter and found near a Union Civil War camp. I'd love to claim it as carved from a bullet but I'm not quite sure as there appears to be the slightest trace of plating on the bottom. The remainder of the items in the display box are a Williams cleaner, a .58 minie, an eagle "I" cuff infantry button and a 1909 Barber quarter (obviously not Civil War). All dug from the same camp area in Northern Virginia.
