My First 1700's Silver

On December 1st I had plans with a club member to hit a 1760's cellar hole that has yielded great results this year... We've pulled 13 coppers mostly early to mid 1700's... 6 pieces of US silver, 6+ Indian heads, and the usual suspects... Lead, Buckles, buttons, farm parts, harmonica reeds, etc.

Don't Ignore All Loud Shallow Signals!

Another great day out with the E-TRAC! The highlighted finds shown came from one previously hunted cellar hole site that was inhabited from ca. 1830's to the 1920's. From left to right I found: A "Defiance" CWC Pocket Watch with last patent date June 4 '07; 1889 Liberty Seated dime; 1889 Indian Head cent; 1919 "Mercury" dime; 1905 Indian Head cent; ca. 1830's Heraldic Eagle Militia belt plate; brass entry door key; brass shoe heel protector; and oval Rosette plate.

E-TRACs Bring in the Harvest!

My hunting partner Doug and I decided to do some door knocking at some old farm houses as we have found that this is a good way to meet some very nice people and get good sites to detect. This Saturday was a crisp fall morning but with abundant sunshine to warm us up.

Very Impressed With This Machine

All I can say is amazing! I received my E-TRAC on Friday November 4th, 2011. In only two outings with the E-TRAC I have dug 4 silver coins. The 4th silver coin was dug at 8 inches. When I recovered it, I thought to myself that someone must have hammered it or it was placed on a train track. I chalked it up to being a Barber Dime and didn't think anything of it.

I MINELABED IT!

I used to wonder from time to time when I would go out hunting for coins what I was missing. Well… I don’t wonder anymore… I MINELAB the spot! I was out Sunday with the E-TRAC checking out a spot that I had permission to hunt. After hunting for awhile a friend and I had turned up some clad and other relics such as a piece of a crotal bell and 2 oil lamp tops.

A Special Birthday Present

Finally a Giveback. My wife and I were recently invited to my daughter's girlfriend's birthday celebration at the girlfriend's mothers home. Knowing that it might be a long day, I brought the E-TRAC along.

Some Good Karma

It's was beautiful day so I spent the morning hunting in my favorite park. The park maintenance crew recently cleared the undergrowth out of a very old section of the park where I've found dozens of barbers in the last 2 years as well as many mercs/buffalos/indians and wheats using my E-TRAC. I knew there had to be more there and with the ground cover cleared out, it was easy to swing the detector.

E-TRAC Scores 112 Silver Coins in 17 Days!

I had business in an unfamilar town, and researched potential places to detect while I was there. Threw my E-TRAC and gear in the car, and headed off.

The first site on my list was closed, and when I arrived at the second site, it looked special. Old and undisturbed. There was a police officer in the parking lot, and I asked if it was ok to detect here. He said no problem, so I grabbed my E-TRAC, and was off.
