MXT Saves a Marriage!

A friend of mine in Roanoke, VA mentioned about a month ago he had lost his wedding ring several years ago while seeding his front yard. When I heard that my ears perked up and offered to find it for him. Talking some smack, I told him I could probably find it in about 10 minutes with my MXT. Well he took me up on the offer. When I arrived at his house on Thursday he showed me where he had seeded his front yard which was a fairly large area.

My MXT's Best Find Ever

Excited about a civil war field hunt with my White’s MXT. Sunday I gained permission to hunt this field in Oklahoma. While sniffing an iron trail I landed this rare key date 1843-O sitting liberty dime worth around $1500-$3100. This coin was six inches deep and iron all around it. The hint of old silver gave me goose bumps and I will always remember this amazing hunt. Thanks White’s for such an excellent machine!

Finding Treasure with My MXT

I have been an avid detector for the past seven or eight years and for the past four years I have use a White's MXT. I have found a lot of interesting, if not so valuable items in that time. One of my goals has been to find a piece of personal property that someone lost and be able to return it to them.

MXT Finds Lost Academy Ring

Officials of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO, recently contacted the metal detecting club that I belong to, the Pikes Peak Adventure League, in help locating a lost ring at the Academy's cemetery. The Air Force Officials explained that almost one year ago a widow from Huntsville, AL had been visiting the grave site of her husband, a retired Air Force Colonel and lost her late husband’s 1961 Academy Class ring somewhere in the cemetery.

MXT Finds a Confederate "C" Rosette

I just wanted to let you know of this fantastic find I made a few month back at a Civil war hunt I went to using my trusty MXT. Twice a year I attend an organized Civil war hunt that is held in an area where the ground is so mineralized that is tough to get a signal more than a few inches deep. I've owned my MXT for about 10 years now and know it fairly well. I was detecting an area of a field that was load with trash and iron when I got a VDI reading around 89. It was a loud signal that I thought for sure was a tin can, but thought I better dig it because the graphic bar was high and the VDI was solid.

MXT Helps My Son and I Get an Award!

A few weeks ago my son Walter came home from school very upset. A classmate of his had brought her mom's engagement ring to school and lost it on the soccer field. They are in first grade so naturally the girl was REALLY upset. My boy Walter all of 6 years old was very determined to help look for it. He said the whole school was out on the field looking for it and no one had come across it, so Saturday morning instead of cartoons we were at the school with our MXT.

MXT Finds Confederate Cannon Ball

I wanted to relate the story of one of my best finds ever this past summer! I was hunting for relics along Lee's Retreat Route in Central Virginia. As I walked through a section of tall hardwoods next to a very old, rutted out road bed from the Civil War I was finding the normal shotgun shells, but not much else. The woods were really "quiet". I was hoping that I could finds relics that were discarded or dropped from wagons as they made their way up the hill along the old roadbed. I had heard that there was a Confederate artillery position on the opposing hill, but didn't even think about the possibility of finding ordn...

MXT Works Well with Mineralization

I thought I would send some pictures of the many finds I've discovered with my White’s MXT. I live along Gen. Lee's retreat route during the final days the Civil War. The ground can vary from sandy with no mineralization to very trashy areas and some places with severe mineralization. I've been detecting about four years now and found that the MXT works well in all these conditions. But the severe mineralization can get aggravating with any VLF detector. I have been so pleased with the MXT that I now have 2 of them, in case I have trouble with one, I won't have to worry about using someone else's spare of a d...
