Find of a Lifetime

To my surprise I found through research an old homesite on my families farm from the 1880's. There was no sign of the homestead and we never knew it existed even though we lived there for over a decade. I got permission from the current owner and quickly with my son and friend Bryon off we went.

All I Can Say is WOW!

I just received my E-TRAC yesterday, I had planned for it's arrival by taking the following day off from work to get familiar with it. I went to a park where I had found a couple of silver coins previously but had not hunted it since because the good targets were just plain out of reach for my old detector. I figured this would be a good place to start with my new E-TRAC.

What a Day!

I guess I would say my success story would include the great group of people at Minelab Chicago.I had to send my E-TRAC in for repair to find out I had a bad touch pad which probably caused by being in the rain to much (Use the covers guys!).

Super Excited

A few weeks back, hunting at an old school, I got a very solid signal from my E-TRAC. Cut the plug, and at 5 inches down out came a very large class ring. I was super excited being my first class ring I had ever found. The ring was made from sterling silver and read 2004 state champions across the top and side. Luckily it also had a jersey number and a name on the side of the ring. After a few hours of searching the web I found a team roster for that year, however the name online did not match the name on the ring. Still at least it was a lead. I found guy who was listed on the roster and contacted him through facebook.

Wish It Was My Full Time Job

I went and picked up my buddy today April 28th, and he doesn't have a car or a very good detector. I usually feel bad as I pull tons of coins, silver and more out and he ends the day with very little. Today he did good digging a silver coin from 1939 and I was the one feeling bad.

Restoring 65 Years of Memories

I and fellow Dayton Digger Tom Johnson were called out to see if we could find a lost wedding ring. The gentleman had lost it he believed in his garden plot two years before and after much fruitless searching thought it was gone for good. His daughter contacted Tom and Tom asked me to help him find it if we could.

Never Thought it Would be This Great

I can't believe it! I found another silver today. I never actually thought it would be this great. I thought it was going to better, but not like this. I used my old detector for 2.5 years. I found 2 silver dimes, both Roosevelt's, both shallow, most likely new drops. I have had my E-TRAC for 3 weeks. I have found three silver coins already, two mercs and now a Washington!!!!

Not Bad for a Quick Hunt

Here in April I saw the weather report was calling for a sunny day in the 70's so I took my new E-TRAC to work today. On the way home I stopped at a nearby dog park which has a farm house dating back to 1834.

What a Surprise

Been Coin hunting for over 34 years and have found many old coins but had never been able to find a Seated Liberty quarter until this past weekend. Was hunting a old closed down golf course that dates back to 1922 and came across a 6 inch deep tire track completely filled with water.
