The Fields Of November

Saturday, Kyle invited us down to his choice fields for a hunt, Doug and his nine year old son Malachi, Diane and I drove out to meet him and we all rode to a cornfield first. The stalks were still high in this fresh cut field and so were our expectations.

The others got into the field just a bit ahead of me, but I was able to make the first find, a 12-25 signal led me believe I had a button or maybe a fatty Indian. I did pop out an Indian but it was not a fatty but a severely corroded 1902.

The E-TRAC Does It Again

Well I went out today with my friend Doug mding. He had a new site to hunt. So we went out this morning in the cold. He had found some nice coin's last week. So I was hoping to find a real or a doubloon.

So it was a hell of a climb to the top of this hill, but we got there and started to hunt. The first hour, we did not find much but gun shells. It was a big field and woods. Doug went in the woods and I hit the field. He also used an E-TRAC. Why? Well it 's the best in the business brother.

The Best Find I Ever Had

Hello everyone!

At the start of September, I went out with my E-TRAC to a field where people have been searching with metal detectors for over 30 years. Till this day people still dig up nice finds at this particular field, including me.

A Rare Find for the E-TRAC

I wasn't feeling too well this particular day, but I was desperate to get out metal detecting. So reluctantly, I paid a trip to the field closest to me. I wasn't expecting to find much as I call this field my "Junk " field - the reason being that the last two seasons I had spent clearing it of modern junk with my trusty Minelab Safari.

A Game Changer

Here is a fun couple of days I had with my E-TRAC this summer. I mentioned on Facebook that I go metal detecting. An old buddy wanted to know what kind of detector I used, and how well it worked. I told him that 8 years ago I bought a lesser machine & that this year I had bought a Minelab E-TRAC, a better digging tool & a pinpointer. Together those three things were a "game changer".

Persistance and an E-TRAC

I live in Scotland in an area where the landscape has been seriously altered as a result of a century of Coal Mining and because “good” finds are few and far between.

I am very passionate about history and metal detecting gives me a direct link with history. The machine I use for this is an E-TRAC and before that, for a number of years I have used a Safari – which I swear by!

Seated Grand Slam

Recently on a Saturday morning, I had a little time and went to the same field near home I often hunt. The field has been heavily hunted for years. Coins are sparse and I frequently get skunked, but when you find something it is usually pretty old. It, just a couple weeks prior, produced a silver 1831 Capped Bust Half Dime. I hunted about an hour in the same areas I usually hunt, as do many others, before needing to leave, and found nothing.

How A Bad Day Turned Out To Be A Good One

Yesterday, I started a new painting job on a house of a customer of mine. The morning went well, and the work was going great. That was until the rain came.
