1777 USA Continental Army General Service Enlisted Soldier's Button
I purchased my DFX from Barbara at Kellyco last month and have been having a great time. The site I'm hunting on is an old stone foundation on a relative's farm in CT. We knew the site had 18th century pottery, nails, pipes and other odds and ends. I was shocked when the first week with my DFX I was getting a 17+ VDI in the stone foundation. I moved a few rocks from the wall and there sitting nicely protected from the elements was this 1777 USA Continental Army General Service enlisted soldier's button. I took it to a military button expert to have it authenticated that following week and was graded as "excellent" condition. From my understanding the only other USA 1777 but...

Whites and Super 12 Searchcoil Finds Treasure Others Leave Behind
Although I've been detecting a long time and owned lots of metal detectors, I had never owned a DFX. When it arrived last week from JW at Kellyco, I read the manual, watched the DVD and re-read the manual. I have been using the Super 12 coil quite a bit on my MXT and decided that was the coil for the DFX's "maiden voyage". I took the detector out to my coin garden and familiarized myself with the settings and the sounds. I immediately noticed how the audio tone of the DFX reminded me of my XL Pro. Wide and distinct! Running out of sunlight, I decided to take the DFX/Super 12 combo to the neighbor lady's yard for a quick hunt. Now I have hunted this same back yard with about...

MXT Finds Mothers of Pearl Bracelet
My wife and I were metal detecting at an old school in a near by town. We were using our White's MXTs. My wife was using the 4.5x7 DD Excelerator search coil and I was using the 6" DD Excelerator search coil. I recovered this beautiful women's silver bracelet with what I believe to be Mother of Pearl stones all the way around it. It is very heavy and is marked .925. I walked over to my wife to do a little bragging and held it out for her to see. Well she scooped it out of my hand faster than I could say " Hey Honey look what I found." I think she likes it. It is going to be a great summer for metal detecting. If you get a chance come on out to Idaho this fall and we can go ...

14K Gold Medallion Found!
Hi JW, I just want to tell you that the verdict is in on the 8" DD Excelerator search coil you sent me. It is an excellent search coil and I highly recommend it to White's MXT and DFX users. It is what you would expect from a top of the line search coil. This coil is an excellent choice for open field hunting and even in high trash areas. I have only used it for about 6 or 7 hours but in that time I found that I was able to detect deep targets as I dug several targets that were in the 8 to 9 inch range. I feel that the coil is capable of getting down deeper. Pinpointing with this coil is a snap. You can pinpoint off the front of the coil or the back and when you dig your targe...

Whites MXT Find 1893 Worlds Fair Medallion
Hi My name is Jay, I've been detecting about fifteen years Just thought you would like to see this nice 1893 worlds fair medallion I found, it appears to be made of lead , I don't know much else about it or value if any. But I sure was excited to see that come out of the ground. It's huge as you can see in the pic compared to the rest of my haul. I found it using my Whites MXT with the 5" excelarator coil, found in London, Ontario Canada, about 4" deep. the ground is infested with well rusted iron and a lot of nails I usually get 2-3 in in every scoop of my digger. the MXT with 5" excelarator coil is great at separating trash. Keep up the good work ...I plan on getting a 14- 18...

Amazing Civil War Relic Found 10 Inches Deep!
I don't think I would have believed this story had I not dug this find up myself and written about it! I recently went to the latest field, the one where multiple detectors hunt everyday. After searching the lower grass area for awhile and finding nothing of note, I moved toward the far right corner where I had found two good bullets the other day. I found the knapsack J hook in the above photo on Friday....

20 Coins and Three Rings in 2 Hours!
I purchased my Garrett GTI 1500 just over 4 weeks ago. I had used metal detectors in the past and I finally bought my own. I live on the Gulf Coast of Alabama. My first weekend and two weekends after I hunted on local beaches. I found quite a few coins and some non expensive jewelry. In the next couple of weeks I hunted at an old house and a local swimming hole. In all I found over one hundred coins some more rings and other metal items. Just last Sunday morning I hunted for 2 hours and found 20 coins and three rings. One of which was silver with the center stone missing. I am very pleased with Garret's GTI 1500. I am having more success that I thought possible. The attache...

Fisher Metal Detector Finds Rings, Coins and more!
I have been an avid land hunter for 35 years but after detecting an old beach area and shallow water, my views are changing about detecting! My friend Sonny invited me down for some water detecting and I made the 250 mile drive to detect. I have tried water detecting on and off over the years with not much luck. My luck would change as both me and Sonny were using the Fisher CZ-20's and made some awesome finds. We detected for two days in the water for a total of about 8 hours. Our finds consisted of class rings from 1929, 36 and 37, silver and gold bands, walking liberty halves, standing liberty quarters, buffalo nickels, v nickel, mercury dimes, wheat's cents, token...

White's GMT Metal Detector Finds Gold Nugget
"Last winter I met some folks that told me about Dome Rock in Quartzsite, Arizona, where the ground is covered with quartz and you can still find gold nuggets! So I bought my White's GMT last January from Kellyco and started hunting around Quartzsite - out in the desert -from January through the last part of March. It gets WAY too hot to stay in Arizona in the summer time, but when it's cooler I take my GMT with the DD search coil and my pinpointer out as far as possible. It took me a few days of trying before I finally figured out that I should get off the desert floor and up into the dry washes of the mountains. Now I pretty much avoid areas where humans can live or c...

Necklace Loaded with Diamonds
Last weekend I was at the Beach on the west coast of FL and found a beauty. I hunted from about 11:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. I found the necklace at about 5 p.m. I also found $2.71, three junk earrings and a junk toe ring. The water is getting cool so on my next trip I will have on my wet suit....
