White's DFX 300
My name is Russ Cowles. A couple of weeks ago I broke three ribs, and just couldn't get out to detect. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed. However, I started back up again yesterday (May 7th.) And today (may 8th), I went to a old one room schoolhouse in a nearby town. My son and I pulled out five Wheats, a Silver Medal, a Pocket Watch and some Clad. I also found yet another Pocket Watch in pretty good shape. I have to say, I found some more clad, and a gold plated ring. I then I got a strange signal in the silver range but a broken signal. So, I began digging and about five inches down, out popped this beautiful 1783 Spanish Reale. I thought I was going to pass out I was so ...
I have purchased 2 White's detectors, the MXT and the Surf Pro PI from Kellyco and I love both of them. I purchased the MXT about three years ago; the finds have been amazing. Last year, I purchased the White's Surf Pro PI to extend my hunting further out into the water. This is another quality detector by White's. I knew this machine would also pay for itself once I started using it.
I have enclosed a couple photos of my finds for the month of January 2009, using my MXT in combo with my Surf Pro PI at the beach. I'm not able to get out and hunt as much as I would like. I usually average a couple times a month. However, I was able to get out on six different occasions this ...
Detech 10x12" SEF Butterfly Search Coil (Minelab E-Series)
I'm still shakin'...seriously.
Niterider_58... (Phil the Yeti).. and I road tripped to St. Louis over Memorial weekend to hit some parks. We met up with forum member small change (Dan)...and another good feller' from the forum that goes by the name "Nick Papageorgio".
We started out at one park where I spotted a nice looking area that had some shade trees along it. The tree line set up on a small hillside overlooking a ball diamond a few yards away.
It wasn't long before we started getting overrun by clad hits...everywhere. I just slowed down and tried my best to concentrate for a deeper "warble" to come through the clad hits.
About 30 minutes into the hunt I got n...
Minelab GPX 5000
Was out to the beach early today and went to a spot that I've found a lot of indian heads and some seated liberty's...nothing of that nature today but did find some 1800s stuff...for me,first time out with the 5000, I'd say it'll do well. Some of the stuff was deeper than I imagined and I've been at this beach for the last 15 years or so.
The buckle in the upper right hand corner was down a good 15 to 18 inches and it was down at the bottom of the hole. I had to use two full scoops of sand and my scoop is 8 or so inches deep. I'd say thebigger items were down between 12 to 18 inches. I'm satisfied.A couple of those quarters were down at least a foot but the thing I'm happy ...
Here's a pic of the young man that found the sword, the day he found it! I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to Kellyco for the great deal you all gave his father on the White's MXT!!!!! I told him you all would treat him right and now he is hooked on hunting!!
A week after receiving a White's MXT for his seventh birthday, Lucas Hall's gift is already paying dividends for the first-grader.
Buried six inches deep was a sword thought to have been used during the Civil War - "I was excited," Lucas said.
But the pair was still unsure of their finding until they started digging deeper.
"We originally thought it was an old fence post," Gary said. "I started ...
Detech 8" EXcelerator Concentric Search Coil (Minelab E-Series)
I've been piddling with the 8" concentric Excelerator coil for the last few hunts and I must say it has been serving me well. I was a little skeptical at first because it is the only concentric coil on the market for the explorers...and I never see much posted about it. I know full and well that the double d coils are the ticket for mineralized ground...but depending on your area...if you have some ground that isn't too bad..this coil might help you out.

White's Spectra Series VX3
I received my new VX3 today and decided to take it out in my backyard for a quick spin. I know there was a house from the late 17-early 1800s, but had never been able to find its exact location. Although I plan on covering every square inch of the ground, I wasn't looking to put in a lot of time with the new VX3 today....
Detector Pro Headhunter Pirate
The pictured gold coin was found on the Connecticut/Rhode Island shoreline in 2001. Sandy entered her coin find at the Best of Northeast Treasure show in Keene, NH. She won first place for beach finds. The following is an excerpt from a letter Sandy Crouch sent DetectorPro. With our son and daughter grown and building there own lives, we had more time to share together. Our best friends encouraged us to try detecting and join them in New Hampshire where we could see many brands and buy our first ones. We made an excellent choice and bought two. Our friends bought two also. The weight is in the headset and Im able to swing my arm longer
An average of five hours a day. If ...
White's DFX 300
Not too sure if you will remember me, since I know you deal with many people in a month's time. My name is Jason T. from Maine and you sold me my new White's DFX. It is 99 degrees here so I thought I'd stay inside and do some pictures and scans of my best finds from my first month in my yard with my new DFX. I just started metal detecting this year around April. I got "the BUG" right away since I was finding a lot of neat items. After about six weeks, I upgraded to the DFX (the metal detector I really wanted in the first place.) I got the new metal detector one month ago yesterday....
MP Series MP5 Pro Swift Seeker Digital
Here are the pictures I promised you. My son and I where detecting near what we thought was the foundation of an old house people in the neighborhood said burned down 20 years ago. The roof was evidently nailed together with 10,000 nails and because of the fire they were all over the place.
My son uses the MP3 Pro and I now use the MP5. I am so happy we bought these models as we could never detect this place if we didn't have the great discriminators on MP's. We tuned out all the nails and other junk and started finding lots of pennies, mostly close to the surface. We later moved around to what was the back of the house and the first silver coin found was a 1940 mercury dim...
