GPX 5000 Finds Items Other Detectors Would Miss!
Was out to the beach early today and went to a spot that I've found a lot of indian heads and some seated liberty's...nothing of that nature today but did find some 1800s stuff...for me,first time out with the 5000, I'd say it'll do well. Some of the stuff was deeper than I imagined and I've been at this beach for the last 15 years or so. The buckle in the upper right hand corner was down a good 15 to 18 inches and it was down at the bottom of the hole. I had to use two full scoops of sand and my scoop is 8 or so inches deep. I'd say thebigger items were down between 12 to 18 inches. I'm satisfied.A couple of those quarters were down at least a foot but the thing I'm happy ...

Virginia Boy Finds Civil War Sword
Here's a pic of the young man that found the sword, the day he found it! I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to Kellyco for the great deal you all gave his father on the White's MXT!!!!! I told him you all would treat him right and now he is hooked on hunting!! A week after receiving a White's MXT for his seventh birthday, Lucas Hall's gift is already paying dividends for the first-grader. Buried six inches deep was a sword thought to have been used during the Civil War - "I was excited," Lucas said. But the pair was still unsure of their finding until they started digging deeper. "We originally thought it was an old fence post," Gary said. "I started ...

8" Concentric Excelerator Coil Finds Gold 9" Down
I've been piddling with the 8" concentric Excelerator coil for the last few hunts and I must say it has been serving me well. I was a little skeptical at first because it is the only concentric coil on the market for the explorers...and I never see much posted about it. I know full and well that the double d coils are the ticket for mineralized ground...but depending on your area...if you have some ground that isn't too bad..this coil might help you out. I've been piddling with the 8" concentric Excelerator coil for the last few hunts and I must say it has been serving me well. White's hits a home run with the VX3!
I received my new VX3 today and decided to take it out in my backyard for a quick spin. I know there was a house from the late 17-early 1800s, but had never been able to find its exact location. Although I plan on covering every square inch of the ground, I wasn't looking to put in a lot of time with the new VX3 today....

1907-2 1/2 Gold Dollar Piece
The pictured gold coin was found on the Connecticut/Rhode Island shoreline in 2001. Sandy entered her coin find at the Best of Northeast Treasure show in Keene, NH. She won first place for beach finds. The following is an excerpt from a letter Sandy Crouch sent DetectorPro. “With our son and daughter grown and building there own lives, we had more time to share together. Our best friends encouraged us to try detecting and join them in New Hampshire where we could see many brands and buy our first ones. We made an excellent choice and bought two. Our friends bought two also. The weight is in the headset and I’m able to swing my arm longer… An average of five hours a day. If ...

White's DFX Finds 100+ Year Old Cameo Brooch
Not too sure if you will remember me, since I know you deal with many people in a month's time. My name is Jason T. from Maine and you sold me my new White's DFX. It is 99 degrees here so I thought I'd stay inside and do some pictures and scans of my best finds from my first month in my yard with my new DFX. I just started metal detecting this year around April. I got "the BUG" right away since I was finding a lot of neat items. After about six weeks, I upgraded to the DFX (the metal detector I really wanted in the first place.) I got the new metal detector one month ago yesterday....

A Silver Coins Weekend
Here are the pictures I promised you. My son and I where detecting near what we thought was the foundation of an old house people in the neighborhood said burned down 20 years ago. The roof was evidently nailed together with 10,000 nails and because of the fire they were all over the place. My son uses the MP3 Pro and I now use the MP5. I am so happy we bought these models as we could never detect this place if we didn't have the great discriminators on MP's. We tuned out all the nails and other junk and started finding lots of pennies, mostly close to the surface. We later moved around to what was the back of the house and the first silver coin found was a 1940 mercury dim...

1777 USA Continental Army General Service Enlisted Soldier's Button
I purchased my DFX from Barbara at Kellyco last month and have been having a great time. The site I'm hunting on is an old stone foundation on a relative's farm in CT. We knew the site had 18th century pottery, nails, pipes and other odds and ends. I was shocked when the first week with my DFX I was getting a 17+ VDI in the stone foundation. I moved a few rocks from the wall and there sitting nicely protected from the elements was this 1777 USA Continental Army General Service enlisted soldier's button. I took it to a military button expert to have it authenticated that following week and was graded as "excellent" condition. From my understanding the only other USA 1777 but...

Whites and Super 12 Searchcoil Finds Treasure Others Leave Behind
Although I've been detecting a long time and owned lots of metal detectors, I had never owned a DFX. When it arrived last week from JW at Kellyco, I read the manual, watched the DVD and re-read the manual. I have been using the Super 12 coil quite a bit on my MXT and decided that was the coil for the DFX's "maiden voyage". I took the detector out to my coin garden and familiarized myself with the settings and the sounds. I immediately noticed how the audio tone of the DFX reminded me of my XL Pro. Wide and distinct! Running out of sunlight, I decided to take the DFX/Super 12 combo to the neighbor lady's yard for a quick hunt. Now I have hunted this same back yard with about...

MXT Finds Mothers of Pearl Bracelet
My wife and I were metal detecting at an old school in a near by town. We were using our White's MXTs. My wife was using the 4.5x7 DD Excelerator search coil and I was using the 6" DD Excelerator search coil. I recovered this beautiful women's silver bracelet with what I believe to be Mother of Pearl stones all the way around it. It is very heavy and is marked .925. I walked over to my wife to do a little bragging and held it out for her to see. Well she scooped it out of my hand faster than I could say " Hey Honey look what I found." I think she likes it. It is going to be a great summer for metal detecting. If you get a chance come on out to Idaho this fall and we can go ...
