Minelab Excalibur II
Minelab Excalibur II
On June 2, I was on My Treasurespot.com looking at the finds and someone had posted the following: "Hello friends, I am hoping that someone in this forum would be able to help me. I lost my wedding ring at the First Landing State Park, Virginia Beach. The entrance to this beach was at 64th Street and Atlantic Avenue. My wife and I went kayaking on Memorial day, came back around 1PM and was standing near the tree in the picture. While trying to rub off the sand from my shorts, I somehow managed to let go off the ring into the bush. I heard it hitting the leaves but even 5 hours of searching did not help to recover it. We even bought a metal detector to look for the ring but tha...
Minelab Excalibur II
Minelab Excalibur II
Just a couple of lines and photos from last weeks trip to spain. The excalibur II was amazing, knocking out all the hair clips and the small cent coins which are a pest.
All in all a great week, thanks again for the great service you gave me in April when I bought my metal detector, its nealy paid for itself already. ...
Minelab 12x10" EXcelerator Coil
Minelab 12x10" EXcelerator Coil
Well...I decided I would really put the 10 x 12 SEF coil to the test today. I took it to 3 small parks that I have pounded into submission with other coils...just to see how good it really is. My final impression....It is a deep coin killer.
Each and every coin I found over the next 9 hours was 8" to 10" deep... except for one 11"er ...and many were on edge. While I did have some nice solid signals...well over 50% of them were faint chirps. I believe it was this coil that allowed me to hear those chirps that I decided to further investigate. At these beat up sites...you either go very slow...and pay close attention to these type of signals...or you go home with an empty pouch...
Minelab Sovereign GT
Minelab Sovereign GT
While testing my NEW Minelab Sovereign GT metal detector with a 10" loop in my front yard, I received a signal in "All Metal" mode. I started to dig and the object detected was deep about 24" down! Finally I hit something solid. The object was very heavy. I took it into the house, washed it off and saw what it was. Very silvery in color and so heavy. I took it to my bathroom scale and it weighted 53.4lbs.
I decided the next thing to do was have it tested. It turned out to be solid silver, worth approximately $800 on today's market. The nugget seems to have been hacked on with an axe or large knife. I live on the oldest road in the United Stat...
Denitsa 15x12" SEF Butterfly Search Coil for Minelab
Denitsa 15x12" SEF Butterfly Search Coil for Minelab
I am just loving this S.E.F 15 x 12 coil. Yesterday was the first time I got out since the ground has thawed. Since first using the S.E.F 15 x 12 coil, it has not left my detector. I can't say enough good things about this unit! Yesterday was no different. I decided to hunt a farm field I had been too several times before using the stock SlimLine coil on my Explorer SE. At one time, there had been some small outbuildings in a grove of trees that is now farmed around in a section of the field close to where the old house was. I had hunt the perimeter of this area many times prior to getting the S.E.F coil. Well, yesterday I got a good, deep signal that I had to use a shovel for...
White's DFX 300
White's DFX 300
My name is Russ Cowles. A couple of weeks ago I broke three ribs, and just couldn't get out to detect. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed. However, I started back up again yesterday (May 7th.) And today (may 8th), I went to a old one room schoolhouse in a nearby town. My son and I pulled out five Wheats, a Silver Medal, a Pocket Watch and some Clad. I also found yet another Pocket Watch in pretty good shape. I have to say, I found some more clad, and a gold plated ring. I then I got a strange signal in the silver range but a broken signal. So, I began digging and about five inches down, out popped this beautiful 1783 Spanish Reale. I thought I was going to pass out I was so ...
White's MXT
White's MXT
I have purchased 2 White's detectors, the MXT and the Surf Pro PI from Kellyco and I love both of them. I purchased the MXT about three years ago; the finds have been amazing. Last year, I purchased the White's Surf Pro PI to extend my hunting further out into the water. This is another quality detector by White's. I knew this machine would also pay for itself once I started using it.
I have enclosed a couple photos of my finds for the month of January 2009, using my MXT in combo with my Surf Pro PI at the beach. I'm not able to get out and hunt as much as I would like. I usually average a couple times a month. However, I was able to get out on six different occasions this ...
Denitsa 12x10" SEF (Butterfly) Search Coil for Minelab
Denitsa 12x10" SEF (Butterfly) Search Coil for Minelab
I'm still shakin'...seriously.
Niterider_58... (Phil the Yeti).. and I road tripped to St. Louis over Memorial weekend to hit some parks. We met up with forum member small change (Dan)...and another good feller' from the forum that goes by the name "Nick Papageorgio".
We started out at one park where I spotted a nice looking area that had some shade trees along it. The tree line set up on a small hillside overlooking a ball diamond a few yards away.
It wasn't long before we started getting overrun by clad hits...everywhere. I just slowed down and tried my best to concentrate for a deeper "warble" to come through the clad hits.
About 30 minutes into the hunt I got n...
Minelab GPX 5000
Minelab GPX 5000
Was out to the beach early today and went to a spot that I've found a lot of indian heads and some seated liberty's...nothing of that nature today but did find some 1800s stuff...for me,first time out with the 5000, I'd say it'll do well. Some of the stuff was deeper than I imagined and I've been at this beach for the last 15 years or so.
The buckle in the upper right hand corner was down a good 15 to 18 inches and it was down at the bottom of the hole. I had to use two full scoops of sand and my scoop is 8 or so inches deep. I'd say thebigger items were down between 12 to 18 inches. I'm satisfied.A couple of those quarters were down at least a foot but the thing I'm happy ...
White's MXT
White's MXT
Here's a pic of the young man that found the sword, the day he found it! I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to Kellyco for the great deal you all gave his father on the White's MXT!!!!! I told him you all would treat him right and now he is hooked on hunting!!
A week after receiving a White's MXT for his seventh birthday, Lucas Hall's gift is already paying dividends for the first-grader.
Buried six inches deep was a sword thought to have been used during the Civil War - "I was excited," Lucas said.
But the pair was still unsure of their finding until they started digging deeper.
"We originally thought it was an old fence post," Gary said. "I started ...
