White's MXT
Hi JW, How was your Memorial weekend? Ours was great and the metal detecting was even greater. I can say that my White's MXT with 6" Excelerator was on fire this weekend. I hit a few tot lots and parks and I did pretty good....

I was excited when you told me White's was making a "larger than stock" concentric coil for the MXT, DFX and M6. Although the 6 X 10 Eclipse DD and the 14" Eclipse DD 1400 both provide a larger sweep pattern, moderate soil mineralization levels in my part of the Country do not require the ground balancing characteristics of the DD design. For the type of hunting I do and the sites I hunt, a larger concentric design would be a better choice for finding deep old coins. When I removed the Super 12 from the box, I was impressed with the epoxy filled, spider design. When I connected it to my MXT, I was equally impressed at how well balanced it was. It is a full 12-inches in di...

White's MXT
Today Denny and I were hunting an old site in our home town. The site has had several homes and business's on it since the late 1800's. Most recently a store stood on the site and it was just torn down to make room for something else. This is the same site that Denny found his first silver dollar. I was hunting with my MXT with the 4.5x7 Excelerator coil. (Love that coil) We had been hunting for about an hour when I got a solid penny reading. I recovered this odd little figure from about 4" down. It appeared to be a man with wings having a fat belly holding a torch above his head. On the bottom of the figure it reads Moline (MP) Plow company. When I got home I got on the comp...

I just wanted to let you know that I am really tickled with my new 10 X 14 DD Excelerator search coil. When the coil arrived I mounted it on my White's MXT and I was happy to see that the detector had a good balance with the big coil mounted. I got a chance to put the coil through its paces for a couple hours or so this weekend at a school near my home. I found that it pinpointed right on the money, VDI numbers were accurate and I was able to run the gain near max without any noticable chatter. I found targets as deep as 9 inches and I am sure that had I swept the coil over targets that were deeper this coil would have detected them. Due to the size of the coil I was able to s...

White's MXT
I took my White's MXT with the 6" Excelerator search coil to an old park today. When I got to the park I saw that park employees were working near the play area. They had dug up a bunch of sod and had dug a hole in the center. I went over to talk with them and found that they were about to plant a tree. I ask for permission to hunt the area where the sod had been removed and they said OK. I had only made a few sweeps of my coil when I located two targets within inches of each other. One target read a quarter and the other read a dime. I dug both targets and recovered two silver coins, a 1942 quarter and a 1934 Mercury dime. I don't dig a lot of silver coins so I was pretty exc...

Hi JW. Today my wife and I went metal detecting. We went to a park that has produced some nice finds in the past and today it would produce again. My wife dug this very nice women's 10K gold ring that has 10 diamonds. Needless to say, she was thrilled with her find. She was using her White's MXT with her favorite search coil, the Excelerator 4.5x7 DD....

Hi JW, I thought you might like to see a photo of a 14K gold ring with 8 diamonds that I recovered this 4th of July. I was able to get out of the house early today to do some metal detecting before it got to hot. I went to a park that had a couple of ball diamonds. I was swinging my White's MXT in left field when I got a solid 14 VDI reading on the display.I dug the target and imagine my surprise when this beautiful gold ring with 8 diamonds popped out of the hole. This is my second gold ring with diamonds in two days.
I guess I am pretty lucky. I continued my hunt for another hour or so and found a little clad and a silver football medallion. On the back it is ingraved Bro...

White's MXT
When I first got the 6" Excelerator coil, I tried it in my backyard and wasn't too impressed, but this wasn't a fair way to try out a new coil. So, I took it to eight different pounded out sites within 20 minutes of my house. I could not believe that all of this was left behind by me and everyone else using all different brand names of metal detectors. The 6" Excelerator coil is hot, hot, hot! Every site that I go to now with this coil I know that I will find something - coins or some objects - left behind by some others.
It seems to draw my attention on the MXT VID numbers and causes me to dig numbers that I used to pass over before with my other coils because of the s...

White's MXT
Hi JW. I got the 8" DD Excelerator search coil on Friday, but because the temp was soaring around 105 degrees I was unable to get to use the coil until Saturday, then only for an hour, because of the heat. I was able to get a jump on the heat Sunday and get in 2 good hours before the heat and mosquitoes run me out of the park. West Nile virus is a serious problem in this area and you have to wear a lot of skitter repellent to protect yourself.
Well I am impressed with this 8" DD Excelerator coil. I was hunting in a "hunted out" park that has its fair share of trash. I found that even though this coil is bigger than I normally use is high trash areas, I was still able to get...

White's MXT
Hi JW, I thought I would send you some photos from a hunt I had on 08-02-06. I was hunting an old fairgrounds in my area and I was using my Whites MXT which was outfitted with my Excelerator 4.5 X 7 coil.
During my hunt I began to notice that some of the coins I was digging up were pre-82 pennys, 1965 quarter, 1953 nickel and 1965 and 1966 dimes. I had been hunting pretty fast, but after seeing the dates on these coins I slowed down. I had just recovered 3 pre-82 pennies and before moving on I swung my coil over the hole and got another good signal. I dug down further into the hole, to about 4 inches, and recovered three wheaties.
Again I swung my coil over the hol...
