E-TRAC Finds Gold Nugget

The scene is: I’m hunting in a spot I’ve hunted in many times before. Because of all the time I’ve spent here, I’ve conditioned myself to ignore a lot of signals, because of the high density of trash, both ferrous and non-ferrous targets. It’s a City park – lots of noise. So here I am, getting tons of signals, listening for that sweet tone of a coin.

Killer on Coins

I would just like to say Minelab will always be in my stable. I have been a whites detector person a long time. Almost bought a v3i until I heard it was complicated and had problems. I hardly ever seen any great finds on the forums that I visited. Well I started hearing this and that about the E-TRAC. Man I tell you the finds I seen with the Minelab's were amazing. I said maybe I am in the wrong crowd. Well I found a great dealer Woodland Detectors and the rest is history.

Vary Rare

I've had my E-TRAC for a year now and have made many amazing finds with it. I've hunted parks, old schools, and old houses with much success. I decided to try my first cornfield hunt. After researching an 1874 atlas of our county, I picked an old farm that was only a couple miles from my house. The owner of the house was very friendly and told me the house dates back to at least 1850.

Preserving World War II History

Gusap in the beautiful Ramu Valley of Papua New Guinea (PNG) is a service town for the growing and refining of sugar by Ramu Agri Industries (RAI). During World War 2 it was one of a number of airfield bases constructed by American Airborn Engineers in the Markham & Ramu Valley’s as the Allies advanced against the Japanese in PNG. At Gusap amongst the sugar cane fields you can still see evidence of these activities from nearly seventy years ago – aircraft revetments, marsden matting, Caterpillar D4 tractors (disassembled & flown in), fighter plane drop fuel tanks, discarded fuel drums but slowly a lot of this history is...

Pretty Cool!

I recently purchased an E-TRAC and went to an old race track. I found two 1882 Indian pennies and a 1900 barber quarter at 8 inches. Pretty cool.

Hard Working Detector

Have been detecting for only three and a half months, I have two Minelab detectors at present, an X-TERRA 305 and an E-TRAC. I am pleased to report that I am impressed with these two detectors as they together have uncovered many great finds valued way and beyond the cost of both detectors.

My First 1700's Silver

On December 1st I had plans with a club member to hit a 1760's cellar hole that has yielded great results this year... We've pulled 13 coppers mostly early to mid 1700's... 6 pieces of US silver, 6+ Indian heads, and the usual suspects... Lead, Buckles, buttons, farm parts, harmonica reeds, etc.

Don't Ignore All Loud Shallow Signals!

Another great day out with the E-TRAC! The highlighted finds shown came from one previously hunted cellar hole site that was inhabited from ca. 1830's to the 1920's. From left to right I found: A "Defiance" CWC Pocket Watch with last patent date June 4 '07; 1889 Liberty Seated dime; 1889 Indian Head cent; 1919 "Mercury" dime; 1905 Indian Head cent; ca. 1830's Heraldic Eagle Militia belt plate; brass entry door key; brass shoe heel protector; and oval Rosette plate.

E-TRACs Bring in the Harvest!

My hunting partner Doug and I decided to do some door knocking at some old farm houses as we have found that this is a good way to meet some very nice people and get good sites to detect. This Saturday was a crisp fall morning but with abundant sunshine to warm us up.
