DetectorPro In Water or Land
I took the DetectorPro Pirate to the river on Sunday. I really enjoyed using it because it is so lightweight. I found a few coins and also a necklace, (I don't think it is real) but a nice start anyway. It seemed to penetrate very deep as far as I could tell. River hunting is not at all like the ocean where your hole fills in right away. This is why I know it gave good depth. My granddaughter was actually playing in the holes in the water that I dug the coins out of. Very simple to control since there is only two knobs, volume and discrimination. I am looking forward to taking the Pirate to the salt water beaches! The volume is crisp and easy to pinpoint the target. After I...

DetectorPro Finds Coins & Gold Rings
J-man (my hubby) bought himself a new Pirate this week. Although we are both Excal users, he wanted something for a back up machine or for company to use. In the past I have owned the first generation Headhunter PI and the second generation Wader........both were very good machines so we wanted to see how the Pirate measured up to the Wader. Of course it is light weight and a very easy swing, the sensitivity is excellent and we were able to discriminate iron starting with a setting of 3. Headset is very comfortable. Coins were found as deep as 10 inches and a gold plated ring was found at 6 inches......loud and clear! Of course iron was dug up just to see what the sounds were ...

1907-2 1/2 Gold Dollar Piece
The pictured gold coin was found on the Connecticut/Rhode Island shoreline in 2001. Sandy entered her coin find at the Best of Northeast Treasure show in Keene, NH. She won first place for beach finds. The following is an excerpt from a letter Sandy Crouch sent DetectorPro. “With our son and daughter grown and building there own lives, we had more time to share together. Our best friends encouraged us to try detecting and join them in New Hampshire where we could see many brands and buy our first ones. We made an excellent choice and bought two. Our friends bought two also. The weight is in the headset and I’m able to swing my arm longer… An average of five hours a day. If ...

31 Coins and 2 rings in 4 Hours!
What a winter. Snow and very, very cold. Not being able to underwater or land treasure hunt makes me very unhappy and miserable. I am about 70 miles from Long Island sound. I try to go on my days off which are Mondays. I will go when I can catch the low tide during the middle of the day. As of this writing, I have made 4 trips and I have found a piece of gold 3 out of 4 times. I consider myself very lucky because these areas are heavily hunted year round with the best of metal detectors and hunters. Recently, I arrived at the beach about 10:45 am with the temperature at 13 and the wind chill below 0. I usually get out into the water and use my Headhunter PI. Even though this a...
