Excelerator Finds Coins & Relics
I've been working around the house trying to catch up on some honey-do's the past few weeks. I couldn't take it anymore. So I loaded up my Explorer2 with the new EQ2 Excelerator 16.5 coil and headed to a farm field were the old town Poor House used to be. It is located on a steep hill, and Family's have been using it for slay riding for over a hundred years. I figured it would be a great place to check for some old coins. Well it turn out that I was right. My first find was a liberty Head Nickel about eight inches deep. Not a bad start for the day. I detected for about four hours total. Finds were: two liberty Head nickels, three large cents, two buckles, two mercury's, two...

White's DFX and 6" DD Excelerator Coil Do the Trick
All I can say is "Thanks JW for recommending the 6" EXCELERATOR DD coil". You have made my day. For about a year I have had a coin garden. It was very difficult to find a place in my yard where I could line up different coins because of all the metal in the ground. Finally I got the coins lined up about 2' apart with trash metal in between. When I put the 6" excelereator on my DFX and was doing some testing I got this signal right next to a piece of metal ...

15x12" S.E.F Search Coil Find Dime 10" Down
I am just loving this S.E.F 15 x 12 coil. Yesterday was the first time I got out since the ground has thawed. Since first using the S.E.F 15 x 12 coil, it has not left my detector. I can't say enough good things about this unit! Yesterday was no different. I decided to hunt a farm field I had been too several times before using the stock SlimLine coil on my Explorer SE. At one time, there had been some small outbuildings in a grove of trees that is now farmed around in a section of the field close to where the old house was. I had hunt the perimeter of this area many times prior to getting the S.E.F coil. Well, yesterday I got a good, deep signal that I had to use a shovel for...

10x12 S.E.F Finds a $1,000 Dime!
I'm still shakin'...seriously. Niterider_58... (Phil the Yeti).. and I road tripped to St. Louis over Memorial weekend to hit some parks. We met up with forum member small change (Dan)...and another good feller' from the forum that goes by the name "Nick Papageorgio". We started out at one park where I spotted a nice looking area that had some shade trees along it. The tree line set up on a small hillside overlooking a ball diamond a few yards away. It wasn't long before we started getting overrun by clad hits...everywhere. I just slowed down and tried my best to concentrate for a deeper "warble" to come through the clad hits. About 30 minutes into the hunt I got n...

8" Concentric Excelerator Coil Finds Gold 9" Down
I've been piddling with the 8" concentric Excelerator coil for the last few hunts and I must say it has been serving me well. I was a little skeptical at first because it is the only concentric coil on the market for the explorers...and I never see much posted about it. I know full and well that the double d coils are the ticket for mineralized ground...but depending on your area...if you have some ground that isn't too bad..this coil might help you out. I've been piddling with the 8" concentric Excelerator coil for the last few hunts and I must say it has been serving me well. I was a little skeptical at first because it is the only concentric coil on the market for the ex...

6x8 S.E.F. Search Coil with Minelab E-Trac
Got my new SEF 6x8 coil yesterday and put it to the test right away. My buddy and I hit a Boy Scout camp which shutdown in 1968 and is now private property which his buddy owns. We hit it for 3 hours and the Etrac with the small sef pulled out 15 wheats, 2 mercs, 1 rosie, 1 quarter, 2 jeffersons, 1 V nickel, boy scout necker slider and a WWII medal. A lot of these coins had nails, crown caps and just plain junk soil type stuff mixed in....

Georgia Button Found 8" Deep with White's MXT & 6x8 SEF Coil
Today was my first time out to go detecting in quite awhile. I have had the 6X8 SEF coil for my MXT from JW at Kellyco for several months and really have been itching to give it a try. I have played around in my home doing air test and it would hit a dime at 9"-the same as the stock coil...

Civil War Relics Found
I used this coil with my Minelab Explorer 2 on a Civil War battlefield searching for relics. This was done with full permission of the owner in a area that had been searched many times by different detectors over the years. Using my stock 10.5 coil I searched a area and found a few medium size shell fragments as well as the usual farm equipment pieces you would expect in a field. On average the stock coil was pulling fragments down to a depth of 12 inches. I believed that there were larger fragments and relics below what I could find so I purchased the 16.5 coil....

10x12" SEF Coil Finds Coins & Relics that Other Coils Missed
I thought you might like to hear my review of the 10x12" SEF coil for the White's DFX that I received from you about one month ago, and see some of the results it has given me. Simply put, this coil is has been amazing! I've spent most of this month re-detecting my own farm, one that I have been hunting for years with other detectors and coils. The 10x12 continues to prove that it can finish the job the others only began. I started off in my yard, in which I had given up on the possibility of finding any more old coins. The first thing that I noticed was, despite expecting to have to turn my sens DOWN on the DFX, I actually put the sens UP a few numbers and remained fair...
