Metal Detector Treasure Finds, Pictures and Stories
Fall 2011 Surf Dual Field Finds
I wanted to share some of my great finds from fall 2011 all found with the Dual Field PI. I have been hunting old beaches that are rarely used anymore and most think are "Hunted Out"!! I mostly try to hunt the big negative tides so I can get way out. The tides go out very far in New England. Most of my hunting is done from the low tide line out to waist deep.
The areas I hunt are loaded with "BLACK SAND" that drives most detectors crazy!! Not the Dual Field though!! The depth of this detector amazes me every hunt! I have found many silver coins from the 1800's and early 1900's, also many old gold rings with dates from the early 1900's in them. A very rare find was this 1939 New York world’s Fair ring.
I found a different style 1939 world’s fair ring a couple years back...never did I think I would find a 2nd 1939 world’s fair ring!! What are the odds of that? The silver and gold I have found has also helped out my family, I lost my job early this year and have only found part time work. I have used the cash from selling my finds to buy my Autistic daughter Christmas presents, made repairs to my truck, and to pay for a new hot water tank for my house!
I have found many old bullets and relics also. I found this class ring also, I am working on returning to the owner I will keep you posted on my attempts to find the owner! Thanks White’s for building great detectors! I can't wait to hunt the beaches after some good winter Nor’easters!!
