The Double-D coil allows the detector to ground balance more accurately so is the ideal coil for detecting in mineralised areas such as the goldfields or beaches with black sand concentrates. It offers great depth on most coins and larger nuggets.
This coil provides good sensitivity due to its narrow width, as well as good ground coverage due to its length. The 18.75kHz coil increases the detector's sensitivity to small targets. Great for detecting jewelry, the higher frequency improves the detector's ability on fine gold chains, stud earrings, etc.

X-terra 50 Has Been A Joy To Use
The deepest coin I dug all week, was my first coin I found, a wheat which came from the depth of 8 inches. I found the digital display to be easy to read and accurate. This is no doubt a very sensitive machine and I found myself running with a sensitivity most of the time at 16 with 20 being the highest setting. Pinpointing was easy and accurate as the depth meter was too. I can honestly say this is the best machine I have used in this category and price range. I believe once you try it, you will love it, especially because it is lightweight which allows you hunt all day with no fatigue.

I'm A Big Fan of Minelab machines
I soon got a 36 at 6-8 inches and dug an 1882 IH cent. Across the sidewalk by an old tree stump, I got a solid 27 on the meter at 6 - 8 inches. Figuring it was too deep for a screw cap or pulltab, and thinking it might be another IH on the low end of the scale, I was surprised to find a solid gold cuff link at a depth of nearly 8 inches. Loud and clear, with no hesitation. That was my hunt for today. And, I hit the trifecta. Silver, Gold and Copper. I have to say that I am very impressed with both the depth and sensitivity of this detector. Good targets seem to be consistent in sound and location. Trash fluctuates or "moves" in location.

X-terra 50 Targets at 10" Plus
I used the X-TERRA 50 metal detector in a competition hunt on Sunday with our club. I found out that recovery can be done very fast with ease. Afterwards, I experimented in a well hunted park where I recovered two locks and more coins. Depth, I found to be also very accurate with the depth indicator, hitting targets at 10+ inches easy.
