The
Minelab SD 2200D
Metal Detector
Gold Detector

The
SD 2200D is the most sophisticated, intelligent detector that
has ever been made for gold prospecting.
It gives superior performance and is incredibly easy to use,
making this detector suitable for the first time hobbyist
as well as the seasoned professional The sophistication of
the automatic functions now allows maximum time and effort
to be spent hunting targets. Many owners talk about how easy
the SD 2200D is to use and how they are repeatedly
finding gold in areas thought to be cleaned out using previous
models.
Here are some
of the reasons for this Increased performance -
Deepest Detecting
everyone's talking about the fabulous depth
Automatic Ground Balance
maintains optimum ground balance so that you are detecting at
maximum depth and sensitivity at all times
4 Coil Options available
11inch Double D Coil (standard)
8 inch Monoloop Coil

"Having
owned an SD 2000 and two SD 2100's and now an SD 22000,1 went
back to the areas where I had detected with the previous SD's.
I found more nuggets with the SD 22000 in the same ground
especially where it was hot ground (mineralized soil). There
is definitely an improvement in hot and deep ground. The
photos are from a six-week trip which produced just over 16.5
ozs all using the SD 2200D. I generally work in highly mineralized
ground and the SD 22000 has enabled me to find more gold in
very hot ground."

"Since
purchasing the SD 2200D, in 6 weeks I have gone over old spots
in Clermont, Cloncurry, Tennant Creek and Halls Creek In each
spot I have picked up several ounces that I missed
with the other machines. This has proven tome that
the SD 2200D is a far superior machine than the other SD's."

"My
SD 2000 was an excellent detector, which I had great success
with. When using the SD 2100, I found it to be more sensitive
to smaller and deeper nuggets, the biggest was 48 grams.
Now I have the SD 2200D. This detector is the ultimate. Within
1 hour of beginning with it, in an area considered to be worked
out, I located a signal 24 hours later, my SD 2200D was still
screaming over a hole 18 inches deep through solid rock. I
finally unearthed a beautiful 20 oz nugget. Further nuggets
from 0.5 gram upwards have also been located at regular intervals.
I am the envy of my fellow prospectors."

"Well,
even though I initially had my doubts, 1 bought the new SD2200D
not only to search for gold but also for antique relics. I
went to a medieval settlement I knew of and where / had already
found many small objects with the Musketeer. The surrounds
of this settlement have been regularly visited by relic hunters
for the past 10 years. Today it has been so well searched
that there is hardly a chance to find anything, unless the
detector is able to penetrate to deeper levels. I turned on
the SD and started the hunt, whereby I have to say that the
SD is well capable of excluding surface scrap iron. If the
iron is deeper you'll recognize it by digging the surface.
Well, I started and already after the first few meters I got
a good signal. I started to dig and found a Roman silver denarius
at a depth of almost 35cm, unbelievable. I continued searching
and with every meter I got more signals. I dug and found a
bronze coat pin at almost 40cm. Then I unearthed a bronze,
partly silver-plated Luna pendant. And it went on like that.
In three hours I found more than 15 valuable antique relics
as well as many bronze relics. The deepest relic was a bronze
dagger at a depth of almost 80cm. The most astounding thing
was that I had only moved a few meters. This meant that this
spot was virginal again. The detectors of other, treasure
hunters were too weak to penetrate into 3,000 year old strata.
I handed the finds to the local museum and caused a small
sensation. The bronze dagger originated from the Bronze Age
approximately 2000 BC, therefore the dagger was almost 4,000
years old. This meant that this settlement already existed
approximately 4,000 years ago and not, as assumed, originated
in medieval times. I must say that the SD2200D is the most
powerful detector available today. It is able to penetrate
into soil levels which really contain antiquities. It might
well be of interest for archaeologists. This meant that this

"The
new SD 22000 provides significant improvements over previous
models, including automatic ground balancing, push-button
noise reduction, and iron discrimination. When compared to
other gold hunting detectors, the SD 2200D is expensive, somewhat
awkward to swing and it is heavy. However, it clearly
finds gold deeper than other detectors especially in really
hostile environments containing black sand and hot rocks.
For serious nugget hunters the added depth and other enhancements
clearly outweigh the negatives. It is a pleasure to use simply
because one doesn't have to fight the abundance of false signals
normally associated with nugget hunting. Gone are the strong
reactions to large pieces of magnetite, the SD basically ignores
them. If the detector responds with a reasonably strong signal,
one can be almost assured the object is not a rock, but is
a piece of metal, hopefully gold. For the really serious gold
hunter, the SD 22000 is one detector to seriously investigate.
Simply stated, it does a great job of finding gold. As such,
I can heartily recommend this detector to the serious nugget
hunter who wants a truly deep seeking machine."
