Because of its ability to cancel out interferences from power lines or radio transmitters it can be used in urban areas where single loop coils will suffer from false signals The two coils receive the same amount of interference but work in opposite directions. 40" x 40" (1m x 1m) Single frame coil with cables inside tubes, can be disassembled This is a very user friendly 40" x 40" (1m x 1m) coils with the same electrical properties as the universal cable coil with two windings as described before. The main advantage of this particular search coil is it's simple assembly, which can be performed in a few steps. The disassembled coil is easy to transport and will always be ready for use. The coil cable is protected inside the tubes and therefore can be used even under the worst environmental conditions. Two adjustable carrying straps are supplied with every frame coil. Round Search Coils
Different search coils can be connected to the Lorenz Deepmax for special search and location purposes. In general small search coils offer great detection depths on small metal objects while large search coils offer the highest possible detection depths on big objects. The possible detection depths also depend on the kind of metal, the shape of the metal object & slightly on the type of ground below he search coil. The low sensitivity for small metal pieces in conjunction with the very high sensitivity for bigger and deeper targets make the Lorenz Deepmax especially useful when using it with large frame mounted search coils. The maximum detection depths achievable with a 1m x 1m frame mounted search coil are higher than 16.5' (5m) and can even be increased to 26.5' (8m) when enlarging the search coil to 6'5" x 6'5" (2m x 2m). Of course it will no longer be possible to detect single coins or nails with those large frame mounted search coils. Round search coils offer better detection sensitivity on coin sized objects.
10.25 inches (26cm) open center Search Coil This search coil was mainly developed for the location of very small metal objects which are close to the surface of the ground like coin sized metal objects for example. The maximum detection depth is limited at 10 feet (3 meters) on very large metal objects. This search coil can be useful while pinpointing large metal objects which have been located with a frame mounted search coil previously. Deeply buried metal objects can be out of the range of the small 10.25 inches (26cm) search coil and therefore can only be detected with frame mounted search coils. The 10.25 inches (26cm) search coil is waterproof and therefore can be used in saltwater. Single coins can be detected 8-16 inches (20-40 cm) even in different kinds of ground or conducting saltwater. 14 inches (35cm) Double D search coil, open style Separate transmitting and receiving windings offer more stable operation on soils with high contents of iron oxides (minerals). Pinpointing small metal pieces is easy with the double D-search coil, which can be used for most search applications. 14 inches (35cm) concentric coil, open style This highly sensitive search coil has very good depth capabilities on single coins and medium sized objects. 18 inches (45cm) concentric coil, open style This search coil can be operated by a single person with the S-rod-handle (not included). It offers extreme depth ranges on both single coins or bigger objects buried up to almost 11 feet (3.8m) deep in the ground. Depth ranges of more than 40" (1m) for a metal object of the size of a soft drink can, or up to almost 20" (50cm) on a single gold coin make this coil interesting for a lot of different search and location purposes. Those extreme depth ranges on medium sized and bigger metal objects make frame mounted search coils unnecessary in some cases. Small items can be eliminated by increasing the distance between the coil and the ground or while selecting MODE B. This 18 inch (45 cm) coil covers more ground than a 10.25" (26cm) coil does and therefore makes very effective searching possible. Those small objects can be easily identified by the way of the target classification. Universal Cable Coils
This extremely lightweight and easy to transport universal cable offers a variety of different search coils for different search applications. It is provided as a loose continuous cable coil that is easily transported. The cable coil has to be fixed with tape on a frame which can be made of inexpensive PVC-tubes, bamboo, wood, plastic, etc. The following search coil configurations listed below are mainly useful for the location of metal objects with a surface of at least 6 cm squared, example: a fist sized metal object the size of a medium weight (8lb) cannonball. It is very easy to cover a large area with frame coils in a short time. This is especially useful when looking for bigger deeper buried metal objects, gold bars-silver plate-gold and silver coins, and other treasures while ignoring those smaller metal pieces at the surface of the ground. Universal Cable coil 26 feet (8m) perimeter (detection depth up to approx. 26 feet (8m) when detecting very large objects) Highly sensitive up to more than 20 feet (6m) detection depth when detecting large objects. This large coil cable can be arranged to many different frame coils by simply fastening one or two windings on a frame with tape. This is mainly possible because of specially developed electronics to eliminate low frequency interference and a power pulse circuit of the Lorenz Deepmax. The high sensitivity for large and deeply buried metal objects and the simple elimination of smaller metal fragments make these coils interesting. Cable Coil 40 feet (12m) perimeter (detection depth up to approx. 40 feet (12m) when detecting very large objects) Highly sensitive up to more than 33 feet..., 10m (40 ft) detection depth when detecting large objects with 3mx3m frame coil. Similar to the universal cable coil, this large coil cable can be arranged to two different frame coils by simply fastening one or two windings on a metal free frame (PVC Pipe, wood, plastic tube, etc.) with tape. This is mainly possible because of specially developed electronics to eliminate low frequency interference and a power pulse circuit of the Lorenz Deepmax. The high sensitivity for large and deeply buried metal objects and the simple elimination of smaller metal fragments make these coils interesting. The shape of these large coils should be the same as with the other large coils namely round or square. Two shapes are recommended. (1)- As a single 10' x 10' (3m x 3m) configuration. (2) - As a double winding 60" x 60" (1.5m x 1.5m) can also be achieved. Optional Back-up Rechargeable Battery Pack
Rechargeable battery spare part 12V/ 7.2Ah The Lorenz Deepmax is supplied with an external rechargeable battery which will power the electronics 7 to10 hours depending on the type of coil connected and the environmental temperature conditions. The usage time will be 8 hours under average conditions. The charge electronics will automatically change to a trickle charge mode when the battery is full. The built-in battery is therefore protected and can't be overcharged. The different charge modes are indicated via the red/green light on the charger. A permanent red light indicates the standard state-charging. A green light indicates charging finished-trickle charge. The maximum recharge time is limited at 10 hours on an empty battery. The rechargeable battery pack can be recharged at any time even if its only used for a few minutes and the capacity is still very high.
