The Pulse 6X is in use by military, law enforcement, commercial, and salvage divers worldwide. The claim-to-fame of this pulse induction metal detector is it's ability to ignore mineralization in the environment while maintaining high sensitivity to all metal targets. The Pulse 6X is not affected by highly mineralized salt water, coral, rocks with a high iron content, or magnetic (black) sand; all of which drive conventional detectors crazy.

Also, the detection range is unaffected by the medium between the metal detector and the metal target. Performance does not change whether detecting through air, water, silt, sand, or solid coral.

Version 1 and Version 2 are exactly the same with one exception, Version 2 has a bulkhead fitting that allows the detector to change to other size coils.  Version 1 is "hardwired" with the factory installed 7.5 inch search coil and cannot use other sizes.

What are the differences between the Pulse 6X, 8X coils? Click here to find out A new 5 inch coil is now being offered for JW Fishers top-performing Pulse 6X and 8X underwater metal detectors. The introduction of the new coil makes a total of seven interchangeable coils that can be attached to these extremely versatile detectors. The 5" coil adds capabilities to the 6X and 8X not previously available with the other coils. This lightweight coil gives 30% to 50% more detection range for the smallest of metal targets like gold nuggets. It fits nicely into cracks and crevices between rocks or in reefs where tiny metal objects, like jewelry, are often lost and trapped. The small coil is also ideally suited for detecting on land in areas with tall grass or thick underbrush as it can easily be swept back and forth without becoming entangled. JWF is one of the only manufacturer in the industry offering such a large line of interchangeable coils for their detectors. Other coils being offered by Fishers include a 1" probe coil, 7.5" coil, 10" coil, 16" coil, 18" coil with 100' cable, and an 8" by 48" oval coil with 100' cable. The interchangeable coils allow the Pulse 6X and 8X detectors to be used for a variety of different applications. The 22" long probe coil with a highly concentrated detection field around its tip, can be pushed into a soft, mud bottom to detect small, deeply buried objects. The 7.5 inch coil is the standard coil that comes with every Pulse 6X and 8X detector. This coil will find anything from coins and jewelry, to cannons and anchors. The 10 inch coil has a slightly larger detection envelope than the 7.5 coil which means an area can be searched more quickly with fewer sweeps of the coil and you will get even more depth. The 16 inch coil gives more depth for larger targets like gold bars, cannons, and anchors. The 18 inch coil is deployed from the boat while the operator sits topside with the detector's control unit allowing targets to be located without getting wet. The largest of the coils is the 4 foot by 8 inch oval coil which is mounted on four small skis. This coil can be deployed from a boat and dragged across a sand or mud bottom to detect objects buried as deeply as 8 feet.
