Nokta Golden Sense Goes To England
During a recent visit to Kellyco, I was asked to test a new machine that they had received from Nokta Engineering. I was shown the machine and given a brief explanation of how it worked. I was given a rough draft copy of a user manual and sent on my way. I arrived in England to a week and a half or rain, snow and 50 mph winds. I unpacked and assembled the machine to the diagram in the box and left it unused until dryer weather arrived. ...

Whites Metal Detector GMT Goldmaster E-Series Gold Detector
Dennis has been metal detecting, coin shooting, and treasure hunting for past 2 1/2 years. It was only when he retired that his ambition to get a metal detector and find treasures was realized. Having retired in central Florida, he naturally visited Kellyco and J.W. sold him his first metal detector. Dennis soon became a very frequent visitor and decided to put in an application for a sales position on part-time basis so he would have the benefits of being involved in metal detecting and still have time to pursue his love of coin shoo...

F75 Field Test Report
To begin Id like to explain a little about why I wanted to write a review of the F75. My first detector was purchased by my wife in 1980. As most well know, the machines back then, had very little depth and hardly, if any, discrimination. Since that time Ive owned three other detectors from two different manufacturers, not to include my present Fisher F75. Being a procrastinator, (in the biggest way) I’d dragged my feet for over a year before choosing the F75. I had read every article and review that I could find before my purchase in March of 2009....

Fisher F70 Metal Detector Field Test
To put it bluntly, the Fisher F70 is THE HEAT! As a proud and happy owner of an F75, I caught myself thinking "I bet the F70 will be a scaled down F75." In some ways, I was right. A few less features than the F75, (and I LOVE the F75 trigger!). However, Fisher retained the most useful functions and made them very accessible to the user. Theres also a little something extra under the hood: more depth than the F75! Yep, you read that right! In my soil, coil-for-coil, the F70 is slightly deeper than the F75. The F70 seems to be designed as detector that ...

Fisher F5 Metal Detector Field Test
"Hunting by ear" enables me to maximize my time in the field. On the Explorer or E-TRAC, I can assign a single tone, two tones, four tones or multiple tones as a response to either conductive or ferrous based targets. If I am hunting in Two Tone Ferrous (TTF) on my E-TRAC, targets with a ferrous value equal to or less than 17 will produce a high tone. A low tone will be produced on targets with a ferrous value greater than 17. These ferrous parameters (1-17, 18-35) are established within the software, with no option for the user to change them. Others who...

Minelab Explorer SE Field Test
Theres nothing better for a new detector model owner than to have a crowd of onlookers gather around to ogle your new purchase and ask about its performance and abilities while admiring its sleek appearance and asking for "a quick burn" around the field to try it out....

CTX 3030 Audio Magic
In terms of audio options alone, the CTX 3030 is simply the most advanced treasure machine in existence. Minelabs engineers have placed a great deal of thought in coming up with different configurations for different hunting situations. There are many different configurations for listening to signals. I will discuss them here and talk about how they can be applied in the field....
