Kellyco's Facebook Page #TGIF! Below of some photos of the GPAA of Northern Nevada Reno and The Reno Prospecting and Detecting Club's event we sponsored known as the 2014 Rye Patch Nugget Shoot in Nevada! It was so much fun! The event took place on September 26th, 27th and 28th.
Over 500 participants came from ten different states! There was a metal detecting hunt, hands-on demonstrations! There were even geologists present at the event to discuss gold and silver in it's natural form. One of the best parts was introducing people to the hobby of treasure hunting and the mining heritage of Nevada! There were thousands of dollars in prizes given away, which included metal detectors, gift cards, mining equipment and more!

Many abandoned rail beds have been converted converted to "Rails-to-Trail" hiking, horseback riding, and bicycling trails! To find the location of these places, we recommend going to your state library and looking for old maps. Kellyco's Facebook Page Talk about cool! Chris from our sales department discovered a 100 year old chain (seen below) and some very old batteries while #metaldetecting yesterday in Geneva, Florida! He was hunting at a place called Horsepower Ranch and were kind enough to let him search the area. We are very happy that he discovered some great items!
