Detech EDS Winner Metal Detector
EDS: Extreme Depth and Sensitivity
Detech, the innovators and designers of the world-wide famous EXcelerator Super Deep search coils are proud to introduce their Newest High-powered EDS Winner Metal Detector. The new EDS Winner Metal Detector comes standard with their latest generation 9 X 9" SEF Excelerator Butterfly high-powered search coil. Everything about this detector is specifically designed around the SEF search coil which stands for Symmetrical Electromagnetic Field technology. Excelerator SEF Search Coils are recognized throughout the world of metal detecting and treasure hunting as being absolutely awesome in depth and sensitivity. Whether in Europe, Asia, Africa or here in the USA, customers say they get increased depth, or as one user said "Excelerator Coils Almost Doubled My Detecting Depth".
but it sure goes DEEP!"
Selectable Dual Frequency
Using one of the most advanced search coil design in the field today the EDS Winner will surpass any detector in its comparable class in the really important areas like, soils with medium to high minerals where improved stable operation is needed for the deeper older buried treasure targets. The name of this new detector is very fitting because with its SEF Excelerator search coil and the all new VLF dual frequency selectable feature using 13.89 and 13.74 kHz and the combination of dual tone audio, deep and normal detection modes along with a true and accurate Pin-Point mode really does make this detector a true Winner!
Let's talk about the metal detector itself. Weighing in at only 2 pounds with batteries they just don’t get much lighter than this. You could literally hunt all day with this detector without fatigue and with its center located pin-point button it’s easy to just switch arms for those all day hunts! Detection range on this detector is unbelievable! In an air-test for example, we are seeing huge detection range comparable to some detectors costing 2 or 3 times more. One air-test we were able to detect a 14K medium man’s gold ring at 15+ inches! Of course, an air-test does not always determine what depth you will get while detecting in different soils but it is a solid indicator to a very well matched detector/search coil combination. This EDS Winner detector should have no problems reaching the deeper older coins, gold rings, and relics. Testing proves the EDS Winner is very sensitive on Gold nuggets too!
The EDS Winner is a very easy to use and operate. Setting it up is simple because of the easy defined “red colored” pre-set zones for the sensitivity, discrimination and normal setting indicators. The treasure hunter can easily adjust their desired discrimination, sensitivity levels to optimize the detectors depth in different soil conditions. If you are looking for a deep, super lightweight detector outfitted with one of the Best High-performance coils manufactured today then look no further than Detect’s EDS Winner metal detector.
EDS Winner features:
Advanced Dual zone VLF discrimination control featuring (AMD) All metal discrimination and full range VLF variable discrimination. In the AMD position the detector will achieve maximum depth on the deepest targets including gold nuggets.
On/Off full variable sensitivity control is used to make the detector more stable if it encounters ground minerals and or electromagnetic fields that will also affect the detectors stability.
Dual selectable frequency mode is used for getting the most depth and also used in conjunction with the full variable sensitivity control you can choose the best frequency position for the deepest and smoothest operation.
The Deep/Normal mode switch is one of the most important controls in the EDS Winner. In the normal position this is called the "mass" hunting position and is used for most ground conditions like medium to high minerals and or using the detector in wet salt beach sand or even in wet salt "black sand" conditions. The Deep mode position is there for the advanced treasure hunter where you are looking to get the deepest performance from the metal detector.
Dual Audio tone control allows the treasure hunter to select the most appropriate sound that they prefer. Tone one position produces the sound or tone of 1140Hz (high pitched sound) and Tone two position produces the sound or tone of 570Hz (low pitched sound).
True Pin-Point mode is used to precisely locate the target so that recovery is very easy and fast! When the mode button is pressed continually you will hear a continuous tone and by moving the coil in an X pattern you then listen for the loudest tone and that will indicate when you are centered on the buried target.
EXcelerated Detecting System
9x9" (230mmx230mm) SEF Excelerator Butterfly High powered Fully Submersible search coil: All SEF Butterfly search coils have an unusual blunted shape to the front and back of each coil resulting in greater depth and a wider searching scan letting you cover more ground in less time resulting in more “finds”. What does an SEF Pro Butterfly coil do? It creates a Symmetrical Electromagnetic Field uniquely combining both DD (Double D) and concentric detection signals at the same time resulting in your EDS Winner detector getting the best sensitivity of both types plus greater depth!
Extend the performance of your EDS Winner detector by adding one of their 2 optional SEF Excelerator butterfly coils and one 6 inch DD (150mm) round coil that are offered. A 12 X 12" SEF Pro butterfly coil that is recommended for the treasure hunter who need even better sensitivity and depth, especially for the deeper and bigger sized targets and who wants to cover more ground. There is also a 8X6" SEF Pro butterfly coil that would be recommended for hunting those tight and very trashy sites that make using a larger search coil very difficult. Another very good optional coil for the EDS Winner is the Round 6" DD, especially for locating smaller gold nuggets, small gold jewelry or searching in high trash areas.
All the EDS Winner search coils are extremely lightweight for their sizes, all offer very good electrostatic shielding and resistant to shocks and shakes. All are perfectly balanced and fully submersible. They are completely compatible and interchangeable, easy to mount and requires no special tools. All EDS Winner search coils come with protective coil covers installed.
Battery power is supplied by (4) 1.5 volt (AA) alkaline type. You can expect up to 15 to 30 hours of use but your time of use depends on how many signals your detector will locates and process and whether you use headphones.

This chart shows the results of comparative air tests to different targets. Please note that with the 9"x9" search coil the winner is significantly sensitive and very deep. With some of the targets the parameters of the Winner detector 9x9" coil is as much as 60% better. The Winner Detector has equally good sensitivity to very small and very large targets, to very low and to very high conductivity targets. Even with the optional 6" coil your detector exceeds the depth of many other detectors.
The tests were made at one and the same time (in one and the same meteorological conditions), on the same field, away from any magnetic disturbances.
The speed of passing targets in front of the search coil of each detector was at a normal speed. The same speed is the most appropriate for treasure hunting and metal detecting.
All tests were made in discrimination mode of operation. All detectors were at an increased sensitivity level to the point where they remained stable.
The tests were made by an independent treasure hunter.
|Target||9x9" Coil||6" Coil|
|Gold Nugget (0.7g)||17.7"||7"|
|Gold Coin (0.7g)||10.6"||9.45"|

Of course, an air test does not always determine what depth you will get while detecing in the real world but it is a solid indicator to a very well matched detector/search coil combination. This EDS Winner detector should have no problems reaching the deeper older coins, gold rings, and relics. Tests prove the EDS Winner is very sensitive to all variable treasures, coins, jewelry, rings, and Gold Nuggets!
European Detectorists Are Digging Deeper Coins and Treasures Than Americans
It's hard to dispute the facts, but videos and postings on many European chat rooms and websites all seem to be about the new non-metered metal detectors (like the EDS Winner) that seem to have exceptional depth on coins, rings and even those "hard to find" gold necklaces, gold bracelets as well as small thin gold and silver coins plus small gold nuggets that are certainly missed by many detectors. Go online to You Tube and search for Detech EDS Winner and see more REAL in-the-field depth tests by metal detector users, NOT the factory" Their results for "how deep does it go" are outstanding.. Detech said "Would you rather have a pretty looking detector with many knobs and windows, or a plain looking, easy to use metal detector that goes deeper to find treasures of all kinds?"
