Who is Wanda?

Before joining the KELLYCO Test Team, Wanda's metal detecting experience began in 1994. An important part of her job was using a metal detector to locate underground water pipes, cables and sprinkler systems. That experience led her into metal detecting for coins rings and jewelry and a position at KELLYCO Metal Detector Superstore answering telephones and writing customer orders.

When an opening became available in customer sales, Wanda applied and secured the position based upon her previous detecting experience. On-the-job training to learn everything possible about each detector offered for sale by KELLYCO was a chore, but learning under the experts on the KELLYCO Test Team paid off and Wanda became certified as a metal detector expert.

Minelab - Quattro
"I took the Quattro straight from the box and right onto the beach (Daytona). The first two items I dug were 2005 brand spanking new dimes.  I thought - oh great that is what this detector is going to do is pick up all new coins.  I was a little discouraged at first and not to mention that there were many on lookers.  So, I moved under a stair ramp that was closed (due to hurricane damage). I could tell that someone had been sitting in the sand under the stairs.  The first signal I got was a nice deep tone like pull tab or nickel. Hoping for gold, lo and behold there it was at 11 1/2 inches down a beautiful 14 kt gold nugget ring.  I did a little jumping dance for myself and thought I should immediately call and report to KELLYCO, then it occurred to me that there could more jewelry.  I began swinging again and pulled out a 1916 barber dime at approx 17" deep.  Of course I didn't know then that is was a 1916, I just knew it was silver.  Right next to that almost in the same darn hole was a 1943 silver quarter at approximately 15".  Needless to say, I was ecstatic at that point.  I continued hunting with a great big grin on my face!"

Bounty Hunter - Land Star
"I metal detect mostly for rings and jewelry. Whatever coins I find are a bonus but I love finding gold rings, gold chains and gold medals. Garrett Infinium
Wanda went to the beach this past weekend with the Infinium and reports that the detector was very well balanced, easy to use and purred like a kitten in the salt water.   "Oh my goodness, this detector really goes deep.  I've found pennies and nickels 12-13" deep and quarters slightly deeper.  Set discriminator in low then went into lock.  Worked fine in either setting."

In the water and on the beach the coil remained parallel to the ground.  I thought it might push up when I went into deeper water, but it stayed right on the ground.

I wish I could have stayed longer, but the family was ready to go home.  I'm taking the Infinium to a fresh water lake next time so I can see if there is any difference in salt or fresh water.  My advice "Infinium is not only an excellent all-around detector but I was amazed at the depth I found coins.  I rate this detector as AN EXCELLENT BUY FOR YOUR DOLLARS!"
